Well, judging by the way he did his 4S in this FTT program in show recently it seems he practices shorter entry to 4S so maybe he is thinking about 4 quads , 4Lo, 4S, 4T / 4T3T

The problem is if he triples any of the quads then he might meet with non friendly Zayak rule again. We don't want them to meet. Also there is no need to go for 4 quads at the moment. If he wants a clean win then every element he does needs to have as much GOE as he can only get- quality is the main focus. So there is no reason to worn out his body and mind at this time of his career. Sure Boyang Jin will go for 4 quads but let's not forget that Patrick plans to up his game too and Patrick always wins on quality GOE.

Reading from Twitter about this movie, lots of well-known Japanese actors/actresses; he has about 12 lines. As mentioned above, he said yes because of his love for Sendai. It was shot in July of last year.

- Yuzu's modeling and performance in this Japanese Period cinema got highly praised from production team and cast. This is a real story happened in Sendai in Edo period of Japanese history. Cinema producer said, initially they were surprised that Yuzu agreed to participate. So they kept his appearance in top secret until the shooting day. Other actors were wondering who would play this Lord Date (Yuzu's role). That made all cast got shocked when Yuzu entered the room with formal cinema costume. The effect is just like real general people meeting their Lord.

Reading from news clips it seems that none of the actors knew that Yuzu was cast as the lord in the movie. So they were really surprised when he came out in full costume and make-up.
He was praised for knowing his lines perfectly and having a clear speaking voice, and not complaining about the summer heat in full costume and wig, and doing many takes.

Getting the chance to play the role of the feudal lord of Date (Sendai area) at the movie set in Sendai domain in Edo Period, “Tono, Risoku de gozaru” ((“Feudal lord, It’s interest” .. funny title :mrgreen: )), I played as an actor for the first time. In the play, I had no choreography, but used words, and needed to act with dialogue, unlike skating. It was very difficult. I got nervous at the filming location, but could feel the film making and meet the wonderful actors. I enjoyed. The shoot was done in last summer. I think I could make use of this valuable experience to not only my programs at the competitions, but the exhibitions and the ice shows, as a performer.
I heard that this movie was based on the real story. I’m surprised that we have such a fine story in my hometown Sendai. I did my best to express the gap between the full-blown dignity and the tenderness as the feudal lord. Please look forward to it.

Who plays the feudal lord had been withheld for long, so we actors tried to predict it. We never expected Hanyu-san. I met him on the day of shooting in full costume for the first time. Only after the rehearsal at the filming location, we played it by ear. Nevertheless, his dialogue was perfect. It was amazing.
We kept looking at him with a smile. (smile) He was beautiful. (smile)

Yuzuru Hanyu:
I have had the opportunity to participate as an actor for the first time in this movie, “My Lord, it is the interest!” which is about the people of the Sendai Domain. It takes place during the Edo Period. I played the part of Lord Datte. Unlike figure skating, there was nobody to choreograph my moves for me, and I had to think about how to move as I recited my lines. This was very difficult, and I was nervous when we were shooting my parts. However, it was a lot of fun because I was given the opportunity to interact with these wonderful actors and was able to experience first hand what it’s like to be involved in the production of a movie. We shot the movie last summer.

I think I learned some things from this experience which I have been able to use to improve the artistry in my competitive programs, programs for ice shows as well as my exhibition numbers. The plot is based on a true story. I had no idea there was such a wonderful story from my home prefecture, Miyagi. I have done my best to convey the contradictory attributes of my character which is a blend of authority and kindness. I hope you enjoy the movie!


Sadao Abe (actor):
They wouldn’t tell us who was playing the part of the Lord, and the actors were all speculating who it would be. Never in our wildest dreams did we think it would be Yuzuru Hanyu-san. We never saw him until the day of the shooting and he was already dressed and ready. He had all his lines memorized perfectly and he was wonderful. Ordinary people were not supposed to look at their Lord directly and they would have been told that their *head was too high*, but I couldn’t help but stare at him smiling the whole time. (laughter) He was beautiful. (laughter). I don’t think he wears a lot when he’s performing on the ice, but he had to wear a full Haori Hakama (the Kimono) and even wear a wig. It must have been really hot/warm! He never complained despite the fact that we had to keep doing numerous takes. He left me with the impression that he is a world class athlete.


Yoshihiro Nakamura (Director):
Because we cast illustrious actors and actresses, we needed someone who would be convincing playing the part of their “Lord=someone above and beyond them”. This was difficult and it took a long time for us to find the right person for this. Finally, someone suggested we cast Yuzuru Hanyu. Hanyu-san was undoubtedly someone who would have been perceived by anyone as someone ‘above and beyond’ everyone, and an added bonus was that he was from Miyagi Prefecture. We felt that, in his past, his ancestors might have had something to do with Lord Date. The way he moved and comported himself as well, his clear voice, and his piercing stare was perfect for this role, and he played it in a very convincing manner. Let me add that *our* Lord of the Sendai Clan has conquered not only Sendai, but all of Japan and even the world, so we were very lucky to be able to cast him. I felt it was too much of an honour that he agreed to do this for us.


Fumitsugu Ikeda (Producer):
I’ve heard that it was pretty much impossible for normal town folk to meet their Lord during the Edo Period. However, it is recorded in writing that Lord Date met the citizens of Yoshiokajuku. How surprised were these ordinary townsfolk when their Lord showed up in person?

Yuzuru Hanyu’s presence was so striking that it even stunned Sadao Abe and the all star cast of character actors from his guild. The Director blurted out that Hanyu-san must be an actor. We didn’t think it would be possible to get Hanyu-san to play this role and we sent the offer thinking it would be rejected. However as a result of our (crazy idea) our national hero has agreed to grace the silver screen. His presence was so overwhelming it even left our top class actors somewhat stunned.

This casting was a closely kept secret until the day of the shoot. You should have seen their faces, when he entered the area, after we had finished rehearsals, in his elegant and stunning wardrobe. The faces of the actors must have looked just like those of the townsfolk when their Lord showed up unexpectedly.
This movie will make you laugh and cry. It is a period piece and true story, which didn’t see the light of day for 250 years. You can see the roots of the good behaviour of the Japanese after the earthquake, in this story.

The story unfolds in Sendai, which is Yuzuru Hanyu’s hometown. I have been told that Hanyu-san agreed to do this, if it would help Sendai in any small way. I have the utmost respect for his desire to help his hometown as well as his ability to act on this desire. On the other hand, I was also impressed by his thirst to acquire knowledge and use everything he could to further (his skating). He was asking everyone questions. I bow my head to the ‘King of the World’. [t/n. This just means the No. 1 skater, and he’s using language like this because it’s something like a pun in this context]

“My Lord, it is the interest!” is an unusual movie, but now you know who this ‘Lord’ is. Please do come to the cinemas to watch his wonderful performance.

Yuzuru Hanyu – The First Time Ever? SP 120?

A very special Valentine Day’s Chocolate was presented to Yuzuru Hanyu.

Yuzuru Hanyu (Figure Skater) participated in LOTTE’s Ghana Chocolate Valentine’s Day Event. He was given a special, skating rink themed, Valentine’s Day chocolate cake.

Yuzuru was very happy to see the cake and said: Wow! This is just wow! He then, approached the cake and looked at it from all angles.

When asked to give the cake a score, he laughed and said: “120! This is a score nobody has ever achieved in the SP so far.”

Regarding the figurine of himself made from sugar he said: “The costume has been made correctly (detail wise) and I’m standing there on a rink made from white chocolate alone, which is similar to when I’m in a competition.”

Asked about his oldest Valentine’s Day memory he said: “My mother and sister have been giving me chocolate ever since I can remember.”
My sister isn’t that much older than me so what they gave me were simple things, but they tasted good and I have some pleasant memories of Valentine’s Day.

Yuzuru expressed his feelings of gratitude saying: Lately, we haven’t been doing this, but I receive a lot of Valentine’s Day gifts via my Present Box now. Whatever way it’s conveyed, I am always very happy to know that you care for me.

I would like to return everyone’s sentiments by performing well and getting good results, because you are all cheering me on.

I’ve found lots of obstacles I need to overcome this season. I am doing my best to grow a lot as a skater. I hope you will keep cheering me on. I will do my best to cheer you all on (in whatever you are doing in your life) by performing well!

Today, NHK broadcast a five minutes anime "Pieces of memory (想いのかけら)" and Yuzu is invited to comment after watching it. He also sends encouraged messages respectively to young skaters and to people nationwide.

This anime is telling a story about a 13 years old girl skater who lost her mother in 311 earthquake and now lives with her father, a fisher. She practiced skating before earthquake but seemed not in good shape. She felt frustrated when looking the ambitious slogan on the wall: Be a champion!

After earthquake, the girl received a fresh new photo via "Picture Restoration Project" who fix the damaged photos for earthquake survivors since 2011. She recalled the day when her mother dress her a magic ribbon on hair. What a happy moment! She got the courage to take more efforts in practice. In the finale, the girl step on ice for competition with a same ribbon her mother dressed her.

Yuzu said this is an anime which made him thinking much. He watched the video many times and recall many things every time...

In the video, Yuzu is impressed with the ribbon parts: the girl received it from her mother before earthquake and in the end, she dress the same ribbon on ice, just like her mother watching her skating from heaven.

It's possible he will choose to do 4Lo first because it's a new jump. His 3Lz3Lo might be better than his 3Lz3t combo. I don't thin it's easier for him to do 3A than 3Lz3Lo so late in the program.

Since he is making quite a big change to his LP, I don't think he will have time to add new jump to his SP and change the choreography in the SP again.

I think this layout is safer. If he misses the combo, he can make up the combo on the solo 3a.
