2016 Junior Worlds Ladies Free Skate

I'm soooo happy for Marin and Wakaba  Kudos to Masha for holding things together, and keeping 3 spots! Her two teammates withdrawing must have been a tough situation. Happy for Yuna and Elizabet's redemptions too.
I'm so sad for Polina and Alisa but it was a really good competition at least as to what happened on the ice.

Huge congratulations to Elizabet!
5th place overall from a 14th in the SP is AMAZING. She's going to cause quite a stir in the ladies' field in the next few years for sure! A great comeback, she can be so proud of herself!

First non-Russian JWC in five years, and it's Marin! Wow, definitely unexpected but I'm thrilled for her! I hope she continues to improve on her consistency because there is huge potential there.

Her short program was so underscored.

No, it wasn't. Sotskova's skills are not as good as either those of Marin or Wakaba.

I felt her FS was a lackluster performance too.

How did Maria get higher PCs than Marin tonight - I'm glad their tactics didn't work tonight

I know right. The difference in speed and skating skills was obvious. I thought both of their programs were not the most well-choreographed but it was clear Marin was the superior skater.

Huge congratulations to Elizabet!

two days ago was surely underscored, today maybe a bit overscored (but not too much actually, she earns those points this year), at the end fair judgement.

Marin deserves the gold as well as Maria the silver and so on.

Congrats Marin! I haven't followed juniors before, but she's such a special, elegant skater. A deserved win.

Fwiw I don’t think Maria’s SS or PE/IN is better than Marin’s, but she really managed to keep her cool, hold the fort and single-handedly retain Russia’s three spots for next year (three spots for second place finisher, right?) True competitor's spirit. Same goes for Elizabet, she's a fighter.

I love everyone on the podium but HUGE CONGRATS to Marin! Who would have thought? And Tyler broke the curse! :yes2:

I can't believe both Tsurskaya and Fedichkina got injured and had to withdraw. Like W T F ? And it really sucks because Alisa is a gorgeous skater and I would have loved to see her as Junior World Champion. :(

I was away for the entirety of the FS... so bummed I missed out what I guess must've been a really interesting afternoon! All three Japanese ladies in the top four, how amazing!
(And Marin winning with a Beetlejuice soundtrack FS is just a dream come true for me  )
Now I'm gonna try and figure out what happened to Alisa... :-(

Congrats to Marin! I love her flirty attitude. She's like Mao 2.0.

But to be honest, not too sure if her jump technique will hold up for a long time. It's far from the best...

Yeah, why'd she WD? Another freak practice injury, or was she sick, or did a parent die or something?

Congratulations to the medalists!

It is regretful that Tsurskaya had to withdraw this competition, but I'm super excited about Marin's winning the JWC title.
She shone through on the ice like a little flare, thanks to her bright red dress.
I'm looking forward to seeing her grow as a skater!

Wakaba, what a great comeback from the awful SP ! She is such a fighter.

I'll have to see some of the early skates....Ivett Toth, Amy Lin and many others moved up quite a few spots!
