2016 World Championships Ladies Free Skate

Russia is everywhere. I heard some people doing the infamous Sochi chant when I watched the Pairs LP. Anyway, I just have one wish for the ladies. For them all to skate their best and to let the best lady win. If that's Gracie, great, if that's Evgenia, also great. Personally I would be the most happy with a surprise podium, without the usual suspects. If Gracie becomes World Champion it could shake things up in Ladies skating and that would only be good for the sport, imho.

I'm on the west coast so the event is actually kind of early for me... but I might need to break open the wine bottle earlier than I usually would. :drama:

4pm here, right? That's happy hour time. I'll be right there with you.

This thread is already insufferable. Why don't we wait and see what happens before complaining about results that haven't even happened yet?

Because sometimes when you look at everything going on around you and how things play out so far it feels inevitable :confused2:

I do believe judging from the other events and the SP that barring a meltdown Gracie will win even if Evgenia, Anna or even Ashley hit a home run and she is less then perfect. I've come to terms with it and I'll be shocked if somebody else it on the top spot on the podium. Yes ice is slippery but everything right now points to them REALLY wanting to give gold to Gracie.

You know, it's one thing to think there's inflation going on. Or that the judges show favoritism or bias towards US skaters. Based on the men's event I'd say you're wrong, but fine, whatever, you're entitled to your opinion. But you know what? To wish someone ill, to hope that an athlete fails spectacularly just to satisfy your own personal biases, is pretty inexcusable, in my opinion.

We have identical minds, especially the last sentence.

I seriously hate when people are like, "I hope this person has a meltdown" or "I hope someone injures her foot so she has to withdraw" etc, because they're being extremeley rude and really dumb. I cringe whenever I see those kinds of comments, even when they're towards a skater that I don't enjoy myself. :noshake:

Agree 100%.

I think we all have moments where we hope a skater falls to benefit our favorites, but to post about it in an open forum where fans of all skaters discuss is rude rude rude. Some people just like to start arguments.

Anyone who thinks Gracie will win even with a fall while the other top ladies skate clean is crazy. She needs to be clean to win. I'm just hoping she doesn't have a meltdown and falls off the podium.

I'm scrambling to get my laundry done before the Ladies, as they say ice is slippery and the results at this World Championships so far have been so unexpected for me, can't wait to see what happens here:hap10:

I want to ask you all: what separates Gracie from the pack other than her Lutz, her above average SS, and her name & country? I just don't see many special qualities in her.

Anna :luv17: has a killer lutz when she lands it (it's also kinda killer when she falls :drama:)

I don't follow the ladies, but I can't wait.

If Gracie actually has the nerve, as she did during the SP, to skate better than the other skaters and to score higher than the other skaters ....

The great "rude Americans anti-Russian KONSPIRACY" will explode! Americans hate Russians! It's all home cooking! They didn't clap, didn't clap, mind you, for the most wonderful ladies skaters , Anna, Zhenya and someone else?, that ever took ice. So so so so rude:noshake: And *then* they put special filters in the Boston water so that the international judges would be subject to mind control from the American fans. *That's* why you can't bring food into the arena.:ohwell:

Because the *only* explanation for an American winning over the most wonderful ladies skaters is, the rude Americans' anti-Russian KONSPIRACY.

Like I said, I can't wait....

You're just copying and pasting this nonsense now, aren't you? I swear you've posted this at least 20 times already. Enough. :rolleye:

Please don't die.

Nervously,
Layback

Dear Forum Members,

Please don't become enraged if Gracie medals.

Respectfully,
Layback

Dear Judging Panels,

Please keep your heads intact. Do not do not DO NOT get overexcited and start pushing random buttons on the computer if someone skates perfectly! Also, don't inflate anyone's scores enough to make the people on GS whine about it!

Frustratedly,
Layback
