2016 World Championships Ladies Free Skate

Jean Senft (the Canadian judge on the panel) used to do commentary on CBC. Actually it might not have been commentary it might have been explaining the technical elements. I always wonder why I don't see more of that on American TV when I watch their coverage.

Parts of that were hard to watch but that step sequence was great! I look forward to seeing her more next year!

I missed it. Did people try to clap along? That music is so inviting of the crowd clapping along.

This is random:

The free hugs for skaters list ruffledgrouse is making somehow triggered this memory.

My mother: What are you doing?

Six year old me: I'm sending teddy bears to the Russian figure skating team!

My mother: Could you... do something more practical?

(That was also the year I named a doll after Kimmie Meissener...)

I agree it's a pitty because she has so much potential but she has to stop burying herself in the short. I'm not sure if she ever duplicated a performance on the same level as her 2014 FS since then and more importantly at a big international event and I Surley don't remember her ever nailing the SP to say to the judges "hey...look at me". Unfortunately...that seems to be how it works for everyone.

Although....I thought Zijun did a good job of that the other day and the judges were more interested in pissing me off!!

Yeah, Zijun was wonderful and the judges pissed me off too! Anyway, So Youn did not have a FS as good as her 2014 Worlds yet for sure, but she had a clean SP her previous competition (4CC). She's capable of a clean FS though, I'm sure of it. She had a domestic competition a few weeks before 4CC and she did a completely clean FS. I guess it's the nerves that matter for her, because when she's on, she's great. Unfortunratley we didn't see much of that ever from her. :sad14:

By the way, I love Anastasia's music!
