Gracie was Frozen Chicken as another Forumer had termed.

I'm literally never surprised when Gracie messes up. Like, I was literally sitting in front of my TV going "she's going to fall on her opening jump and probably either fall on or double a second jump". So yeah. Idk.

In my opinion, it was a toss up for second between Ashley and Anna. I, personally, liked Ashley a lot better and I think her PCS was deserved in comparison to Gold and Evgenia. I love Anna, but she's just so stone faced and is boring to watch. Again, just a personal opinion. I think the same about Gracie. Although I prefer Anna over Gracie.

I don't know about Evgenia's flutz. She always sets up on an inside edge, but takes off straight, so it was a ! in my opinion. Edge calls are tricky though.

Honestly, I think Anna deserves Silver, and Ashley Bronze. But with home advantage, well... At least, judges did not pop Ashely to Gold.
Still happy for Anna. She seems to be so well controlled in this competition.

This year the level of competition is so high. Where would Liza place here with her last year's Gold performance?

Omg, Pogo and Evgenia are too cute for me. Their little interaction as Pogo came up to the podium was so sweet, and Evgenia is so enthusiastic for her, you can tell. She was also singing her little heart out up there, and the Pogo tears~ The Russian ladies have converted me to their side, I'm afraid

I definitely think Anna should have been 2nd in the LP. But I feel like Ashley got low-balled in PCS in the SP. So it kind of all comes out in the wash. Anna and Ashley are both great and they complete the dream podium with Zhenya on top!!

I feel like I can die now. This is the moment I've been waiting for and so much could have gone wrong. After the SP, I was worried. What if Gracie did a clean short and long? What if Zhenya finally has a mental break and it is at the Worlds?? Luckily none of this came to fruition. Gracie is still a lovely head case. Zhenya still has those nerves of steel. After a rough-ish SP she gave her best performance of the season when it counted the most. Her performance tonight was my EVERYTHING. Well deserved FS WR. I can't wait to see what they come up with next season.

QUEEN ZHENYA IS EVERYTHING!

LOL GRACIE GETTING HIGHER PCS THAN ANNA AND MAO OK BYE

I think Ashley totally deserved 1st place in PCS. She sold that program and her really upped her game on transitions.

I kind of have to agree that Anna should be the silver medalist. If Evgenia got over 72 in PCS then Anna should've been over 70 as well. They were really saving that PCS for Gracie and Ashley but Gracie didn't deliver.

Why didn't you talk about how in the world Evgenia leap frogged Mao Asada in terms of PCS? At least even if Gracie had a higher PCS, it wasn't too far from Mao's. And don't forget about homefield PCS inflation. Gracie should be right where she was considering she might be inflated in PCS in her own homefield. So Gracie's PCS is actually fair.

Yes, Ashley!!!!!:clapper: I'm so proud of you, I'm so glad I never doubted you. I'm glad they didn't overscore Gracie. I'm so happy that Anna and Ashley are on the podium. Disagree with Evgenia breaking record, PCS way too high.

Also very happy Gracie didnt win with a bad skate.
Happy for Mirai.

Sad for Lena, but she is young and got tons of time.

Sad for Mao and want to see more of her.

Ashley's performance was the best of the night of that group for me. Don't understand how her PCS is apparently a joke when Evgenia got 72 in PCS and Anna skates just as cold and stone faced as Gracie but okay.

So I absolutely thought about your post as I watched Ashley!

I am so excited and happy and omg!! I wanted Ashley to place above Gracie and it happened! I am such an Ashley fan now and it's more due to her tenacity than to her skill.

SO HAPPY!!! Just wish that Gracie would have skated the skate of nationals and placed in the top three as well.

OMG the Russian fed LOL.

Kovtun is disappeared, elena 5th behind Pogo.

Let's not pretend that's somehow equatable. Kovtun disappeared in a weak showing by the men while Elena still managed to make top 6 in the deepest field ever. She skated two clean programs. She'll be back next year. This result is probably the worst for Tuktamysheva-- radionova, Pogorilaya, and Medvedeva all have recent world medals. She will have to earn her spot back next year, not even 4th at nationals will do.

I think the results were way too close to call between Ashley and Anna. Poor Anna, getting snubbed AGAIN for a crowd favorite. At least she did well enough to land her self still on the podium. Congratulations to her, from having a huge up, disastrous grand prix, good work during Christmas, shaky Euros and the best competition of HER LIFE. I think She's proven that she can definitely perform with the highest competitors, at the highest level, no matter how she does. She had no good competitions in 2013-2014, yet she skated clean. She was unfortunately ill last season, but congratz to her

I think Gracie was nervous after the fall on her first combination, she seemed timid and stoic during her free program and didn't really get into her performance as a firebird

Dear goodness, I thought I would never defend Satoko but *** are the judges doing putting her below Elena?

Satoko is not my favourite — I find her entirely forgettable. But Elena's posture issues drive me batty — do the judges even notice?
