Thank you so much for providing it- but Icenetwork seriously s****. I get that the last 2 groups of Freeskate is verboeten- but I feel like we're paying to get the other stuff. I want to SEE the press conference, etc. - not just hear about it from Phil Hersch and Christine Brennan.
I think that title goes to Kimmie Meissner. Let's not already forget about her just because the drought is over.
Yeah, about her. When I saw her posting about her tenth anniversary of her WC win, I knew this drought would be over this year.

For me the big winner of this competition is Anna. Her 3/3 combination is massive and the ice coverage she gets is not comparable to anyone else, except for perhaps Gracie. I think her placement in SP was right. I would have also given her the overall silver. But, Ashley skated well tonight. She is also more expressive and home cooking was sure to place her 2nd especially after Gracie faltered. Mao was beautiful as always, I am worried if she will be able to keep up with the young girls technically. Evgenia in the end was the deserved winner. This was a great competition!! Can't wait for next season!!
Oh, she's going to pyeongchang, no questions asked. Only a full slate of different medalist could stop that. What she wants is a singles Olympic medal. That's the legacy she wants.

Just have to mention in case some people don't know this, Zhenya just became the first figure skater EVER (in all disciplines) to win the Junior and Senior World titles in back to back seasons. She is also the youngest Ladies World champion in 19 years since Tara Lipinski. She is a MF REVELATION!!
And the 3rd lady to win gold on her first World's appearance (after Oksana Bauil and Kimmie Meissner).

I'm about to go to bed, but I just want to remind everyone in the thread that all medal winners in the event are total heroes who overcame the individual adversities they faced and kicked butt and 100% deserve their medals. <3

She was asked at the press conference about her superstitious rituals- which apparently include crystals
rock and a cleansing of the Boston rink she did with Christine Brennan before her skate: "Oh my god, you're going to make me sound like a witch."Well, your best friend has already admitted to being one

It is a little funny to think that Ashley's PB came with two UR's and a ! though isn't it. Just a little funny right
Maybe just another argument for ignoring things like WR and event scores and instead the end placements.
That was some performance though.
Ashley has been low balled on pcs so many times. I've seen her skate Moulin Rouge lights out better than tonight and she wasn't always scored fairly like the Olympics. Anna is boring even when clean. No personality - her pcs should be lower. Satoko is a tiny girl. At first I found her to be too cutesy perfect. She is an exquisite china doll. She's definitely a classic lady and that is how Japanese ladies skate. Her jumps are tiny but what can one expect. She looks maybe 4 feet 9 inches? She does very well and has very god musical expression. Her head positions are lovely and balletic. Anna is an athlete and I only really go wow when she does her epic wipeouts. She is not in the same league as Ashley. I would love to see Pogo try skating to Hip Hip Chin chin. Only Ashley can pull off that skate. Not another skater in the world has her versatility. May she win Gold next yeaR.
When Gracie is pale and her skin matches her hair you see her nerves as she walks in. She does not know how to compete. But at 20 years old she should be angry at herself like Ashley gets.
Gracie looked devastated because she was in first in Boston and she knows she broke a lot of hearts tonight. Like Sasha she is a choker. But if she has any steel in her she should do what butyrskaya did. Show up at hockey games and skate at halftime. I'm pretty sure she did that stuff to fight her nerves. Hey she was a lousy skater. Look at Maria's jumps and she became world champion. I do not think Gracie should have been firebird. She gets nervous and cannot jump nor perform that piece well. Her Sp was quickie and nuanced. Gracie does great exhibitions. She needs to steal Ashley's music. One program should be music she really loves not what Lori loves. If Gracie loves to perform to say Taylor Swift music or whatever just let her. She is kinda like Mirai. This little Evgenia is no great Artiste. She's still small and skinny and jumps cleanly and tanos every last jump and does great back loading. Eteri is good at Math. Evgenia may not be champion next year. There are some amazing Juniors. I'll guess we will have another Russian Champion next year. Look at Liza with her jumps and triple axel. Evgenia could repeat but injuries growth spurt weight gain may stop her. I expect Eteri has another girl. I expect a Russian to win in 2018 unless it's really close and the Koreans remember Sochi!!!! Home advantage is huge. Gracie didn't really deserve 4th but Judges want her to have hope. So what. She got a little home cooking. And that was so rude of Anna at podium.
Thank goodness Ashley was not frightened. She was very good. A worthy silver medalist!!!

Yup, I'm done with NBc and Tara and Johnny. I may even write an email to nbc to tell them their horrible coverage will now make me watch one of the free streams coming out of other countries.
If they are trying to make figures skating in the US popular again this horrible coverage and commentators that talk all the way through every program is not the way to do it.

I've downloaded some of Kutien's videos from FSNews.RU and they were alright quality from other events. My phone isn't downloading them now so I'm not sure of the quality at this point.
