2016-2017 Programs by Discipline

Wow that was really LOVELY! I love it too! Every element is so well-choreographed and a big GOE getter for the difficult exit to the twist! Definitely looking forward to it

So that is allowed? Cause she already dismounted right?

I agree it's very promising and very challenging -- you can see that they (Bruno especially) is still thinking through the elements a bit. Also, they're looking at a throw 3A in the future perhaps?

That's illegal. The landing from the twist should follow immediately after the Man put his arms on the waist of the Lady.
Besides, they execute twist-like/rotational movement during which the lady is turned over with her skating foot leaving the ice. It's 2 points deduction and Basic Level for the twist lift itself.

And Bruno looks fine. He just has this vibe of slight awkwardness, especially in comparison with Alena. At least that's how I see it. But this programm is miles better than their last one.

Thank you. :) I think this is going to be a great program for them.

Oh my goodness I agree! I...LOVE...IT! I enjoyed in the earlier clip but was wishing I could see it a little better. Thank you so much for posting the HD video link!

The program looks so promising already, and it will only grow better with time. Do we know if it's going to be an EX for next season or if it will be modified slightly to be their SP?

Yes, that's true. I like that Under Pressure has some really interesting rhythms, and that Chock and Bates have a fine ability to hit the beats of music, a combo that has been mostly missing from ice dance since Davis & White and Virtue & Moir stopped competing. (skaters that have a great sense of rhythm coupled with music that has some interesting rhythms to challenge them.) There is a chance here for a really good, memorable program... or not, as always potential does not always become reality.

Freddie Mercury and David Bowie deserve a great ice dance memorial  I agree that the great Queen program has not yet happened.

From your computer to the skate gods ears.

Im a real old timer and had never heard this song by Queen, so I listened to it on youtube. I have to admit I found myself "dancing" in my head to the rhythm and actually hearing some building in tension as the music progressed. I'm not a musician either (although my daughter and son and law both are). I found it to be quite interesting and am actually looking forward to what Chris Dean and C/B do with this piece. I hope it is as successful as "Fix You" that the SHIBS skated to, and some of the works skated to by Abbott (Muse, for example). I remember when Michelle was criticized for her music choices--some of the earlier ones were outside the box--and they became her best, with the music eventually being skated to by others. SO, I'm ready for this SD and wish C/D the best with it!

Ashley Wagner will do one of her programms to the soundtrack of 'Game Of Thrones'.

Are you sure Ashley is not just joking around?? Her tone did not come across to me as serious when I saw the tweet before. Is it just me???

I can see that her words are open to different interpretations, but I am surprised that some are taking them seriously.

... We will be skating our 16-17 freeskate to the beautiful "A Song Of India" by Rimski-Korsakov & "Marche Slave" by Tchaikovsky
