2016-2017 Programs by Discipline

Thanks cathlen & burntBREAD - Well, that is something - and I do remember Mae-Berenice now you mention it, burntBREAD (I don't watch ice dance). Still, not enough. Especially compared to all those wondering who wants to live forever. (Quoting Marcus Cole in Babylon 5: "Well, I do, actually.") Just not enough people who want to rock us, it seems... (Sighs sadly)

Completely and totally OT: another B5 fan? :yahoo:

Poor Marcus, only lasted a season. I tend to apply Kosh to figure skating: understanding is a three edged sword:biggrin:

We are the Champions is meh, at least I don't run out of the room screaming. "Crazy little thing called love" is about the only one I will actually listen to ... so who has skated to that?

Apropos Queen - I suppose no one will ever skate to We are the champions. That could be... interesting. ;)

ETA - But is there any particular reason why no one seems inclined to rock us? Just curious... :)

In the competition not, but Aliona and Robin skated to it as an EX in the olympic year. I saw it only once (I guess it was some GP gala) and thought that they were clearly heading for the olympic gold.

Yes, you too? Absolutely adore B5 - possibly my most favourite TV series ever.:)

Marcus - Hey, two seasons! S3-S4. But still not enough...

"My side, your side and the truth". I don't doubt Kosh could have a word or two to say about figure skating. Literally. He was never very wordy.;)

How nice to meet a fellow B5 fan - the ground isn't exactly littered with them, and one does not stumble upon them left, right and centre.:) Meanwhile, to celebrate, have you seen this tribute?

And back to skating...

I don't think there's a great risk of anyone skating to We are the champions - competetively, at least. That line "no time for losers" could become quite awkward depending on how the skater skates... ;)

We are the champions? I don't think I saw it - but I often skip galas, so that isn't strange.

I was wondering when you were going to notice;). I quite liked Biechler & Dodge's Bohemian Rhapsody by the end of last season, fyi.
It was a nice FD, but, naturally, paled a bit in comparison to Crone/Pourier and Hubbell/Donohue who used exactly the same instrumental version of Bohemian Rapsody for their FDs before.

Ah, among my first ventures into forums in the early 90s were B5 forums. So we can blame my forum-visiting on B5 too. So layered, so funny (and Marcus was two seasons, oh well:o:). Thanks for the tribute; it included the ending line to one of my favorite speeches ever, "If you value your lives, be somewhere else".

Yes, but no more awkward than poor Ross and some of his less fortunate skates to "Who wants to live forever". Many of the wags in this forum said "Obviously, not Ross Miner". ;)

Was there a rule at Broadmoor you could only skate to a warhorse?

Show some guts and originality choreographers and coaches. I dare you! I double dare you! I triple dare you!

Avery Kurtz's music was totally new or me, even though she bombed, so she did. The girls in the lower-ranked groups were a lot more original. But Amber Glenn skated to Rhapsody in Blue, so...

I'll take this chance to mention that juniors Laura Wetzel skated to music from Harry Potter and Sarah Godwin to music from Star Trek (2009 film specifically). Good for them for skating to music nerds can enjoy!

Remember if it wasn't a warhorse, then it might not be recognized by casual observers--and, therefore, wouldn't be up on this thread yet.

Mao's new SP and FS will be Ritual Dance by Manuel de Falla.

EX will be, as said before, Bach's Sarabande and Bouree from his Cello Suite. And from the description "Bouree I/II", I suppose it is Cello Suite no.3.

I feel like coaches need to start banning warhorses to encourage their student to show more creativity in music choices (Cause I'm assuming the skaters are the ones making the music choices...).

No! Leo voiceover again? Dying in this one too? Radionova should have warned him.
