Well, if this music, this tempo and this style are really speaking to Madi and Zach at this moment in their career, then it could have a huge impact on them and therefore on their skating now and into the future. IMO that could override other concerns and take them forward. FWIW, I love this program already. It seems to answer something that I have found, not exactly lacking before, but maybe an underlying potential in them that hadn't yet been fully expressed.

It seems to me that everything M/Z have said about their new coaching environment is evident in their skating. Like it took a year or so to be manifest.

I get what you're saying about Team Montreal, but OTOH, Marie has said that she and Patch have a sort of specialty, in their minds and hearts, for the romantic element.

Mercy, how much of this melodramatic, romantic, dark stuff can one person stand? We've seen both B/S and now H/D. Please anybody, somebody come with a little authentic spicy. Thank you :)
 
Madi and Zach's SD has a bajillion cuts. How is this going to flow? My ears hurt just watching little clips. :roll9:

Never you mind dear. I just have a feeling, there'll be lots more where that came from.....

It'll make us appreciate the other approaches that much more :)

LOL I agree about your last point. The whole SD seems chaotic and jumbled.

By the way, where is the FD? The link posted earlier is not working for me.

I really liked it. Much better than last season's dance. I wonder if there's any chance for them to go higher than US #3, last season Chock/Bates started real slow, so who knows? But it will be extremely difficult.

Really? I found it rather bland and nondescript myself. Same old Same old Montreal Mush. Nice curve lift and straight line lift. The rest I found eminently forgettable.

Yes, I found it rather cute. And yes, the stale... pardon me, the style is the same. But IMO, it somehow feels slightly different than usual Montreal Mush. Anyway, it's too early, but overall impression they left on me is really good. The only thing I didn't like is that Madi, in my opinion, feels kinda heavier than Zach (it's not about weight, people, relax). Zach is just too airy.
 
Viktoria and Nikita reveal their programs in the following interview. My Russian is very basic and I'm not sure if I understood everything. Any Russian speakers feel free to correct me.

SD: Blues by Duke Ellington and If it ain't got that swing by Lady Gaga and Tony Bennet
FD: Tango by Astor Piazzolla

Nikita also talks about his recent operation and recovery and the process of programs' creation. After the test skates they will prepare for the Russian Nationals in Moscow (that's quite a news I suppose), where he will continue with his rehabilitation. They will be with Oleg Volkov and they will stay in touch with Marina by Skype/internet.

You're correct. They'll be training with Oleg Volkov from Zhuline's group. They will be sending the videos from their trainings to Marina and talk to her on Skype.

Volkov is no longer in Zhulin's group. He now trains with the coach of Loboda/Drodz.

I wouldn't know either. Just saying what I see. Me and Volkov ain't that tight. :shrug:

EDIT: Either way nice get for Volkov :) Maybe that's why they'll return to the US afterwards? Just hoping he doesn't push himself too hard and become ID's next Shabalin.

There's not a single word about them returning to US in this interview. Only their plans till Nationals.
