About 2014 Olympics, it was a normal way to maintein your layout of pre-olympic season (Patrick, yuzu...) towards Olympics season. But the time changes...

Haha, yes, exactly. I was only half-joking because the way things are going, I am not discounting it. If this were the past I totally would but now? It's up in the air. He said he's not thinking of upping the difficulty this season. Which leaves the next wide open.

I found it interesting that they never mentioned his injury or time off of the ice once during the entire broadcast. Usually they mention these little things, no matter who the skater is, and you'd think they'd say something so significant about a skater such as him. It isn't like that is a secret, yet they chose to say nothing. Just something that made me go, hmmm.

Maybe she didn't mention this because Yuzuru never mentions them too? Think of Boston (I know, still painful...), he didn't want other to know that he was so badly injured (unlike others, even though they were far less...:ohwell:). So maybe she acts like that because she knows him so well. I really like Tracy, I think that she is a very positive and significant person around Yuzuru, even though she gets less credit in the media.

Maybe they did not mention it for that reason, but usually they will briefly say this or that skater had an injury or whatever, even just in passing. Whatever the reason, she would not give insider info anyway.

I was wrong and TSN finally did show SC exhibition, jusy an hour late... so I did record the little swan. Tracy mentioned again how he does not need to push the sport but does... but when you see beautiful skating like that she wishes he would maybe scale down on the quads. I wish he could just add a bit more of *that* into his program.... I think it will happen once that 4L is under control.

Let the upping mean doing a -3Lo combo, not the 4Lz... :hopelessness: He can do whatever he wants after winning the Olympics, please...

Is there a video of Tracy's commentary online? I really love that he takes his time with each movement in the ex and I'm also hoping that he will make it happen with Hope & Legacy this season but it's a tall task for anyone, much less for him under these circumstances. I'm quite optimistic that he would be able to do it though and the ex gives a good indication of what he's capable of.

He's always competing at the limit of his abilities at the start of the season but he pushes himself so hard that he manages to reach his goals by GPF most of the time and burn out after that. This season it'll probably (and hopefully) be delayed because the obstacles are bigger to overcome, so he can spend the first half of the season getting his jumps consistent and then really put everything together by Worlds.

Translation of this video Xylitol cm, behind the scene and interview by Yuzusorbet.tumblr

CM:
Yuzuru: “After break time? Wh…ite~~…. Come, smile!”

CM-making:
0:24- Can you play the music a bit please? (he practises the movements)
0:49- Is the tone of my voice ok? It was so high.
1:16- I want to do it again with more of a smile. I did it so seriously.
1:38- (in a deep voice) Come, smile! (laughs) It will be recorded at the same time, right?
1:50- Wh…ite~~, sorry can I do it again? My pitch was really off. It is so difficult to do!! I always feel that quads are easier to do than recording. (laughter)

Interview:
Q: Your feelings after the shoot?
Y: The theme this time is like from the Middle Ages. I enjoyed filming it.

Q: How do you spend your break time?
Y: I really like TV games. When I am tired…. or maybe even when I am not tired (laughs)….. I play TV games, listen to music, watch TV. I have a quiet rest at home.

Q: Things that make you smile?
Y: I really like machines. I enjoy looking at machines and headphones. (laughs) Like right now, I am very interested in the headphones that Mr Soundman is using; I want to check out the brand. (laughs)

Q: In the CM, you shouted, 'White!’ Do you have any kind of ‘shout’ to yourself before a competition?
Y: My brain and my heart, the calmness and passion, to fuse them together, I always talk with Coach Brian Orser before a competition.

Q: In the CM, you had a bit of difficulty saying 'Wh..ite~~!’
Y: Yes I can’t help feeling a bit frustrated about that. I still think I didn’t do it well. (laughs)

Q: Performing on ice is easier?
Y: Yes, it is. Doing a quad loop is definitely easier. I think I will be practising earnestly tonight! (laughs)

Q: What is something white that you cannot do without?
Y: The skating rink. I like the rink in my hometown Sendai the most. It is the rink where I first started skating… it has a warm image for me.

It won't be one season, it'll just be back to back seasons ... is that better?
He might add 4lz... if Brian allows. :drama:

Hahahah Oh my goodness,if it were to happen anytime soon, then, I will need a prayer circle for my blood pressure :laugh2:
That said, I am not really against him doing 4Lz. It seems like it is easier to fully rotate a 4Lz and fall than to do the same with 4Lo.

Translation of P&G’s ‘Message to Yuzu’ event by Yuzusorbet.tumblr

During the dreadfully long off-season this year, when Yuzuru was in Toronto recovering from injury, and his participation at all Fantasy On Ice shows were cancelled, P&G invited fans to write their messages of support to him either online in their website (for members only) or at ice show venues. All the messages were put into an album and given to him. From P&G article dated 31 Oct 2016:

His eyes opened wide at the size of the box and the thickness of the album. He was surprised at the amount of messages. He started reading them immediately and a smile naturally spread across his face. He looked at the messages slowly one by one, murmuring with deep emotions, “So many people are supporting me…..”

The heartfelt support from everyone has surely become strength for him. Thank you to all who sent in their messages! And this is the message he wrote:

“Many messages have been delivered to me; everyone’s thoughts and feelings have not been in vain. To these thoughts and smiles, I can continue to skate with my best efforts. Really, thank you so much.”

P&G Requests/Questions for Yuzu, part 1 (28 Oct 2016)

During the off season, P&G asked fans to send in requests or questions for Yuzu and he will pick 3 to do or answer. Here they are:

Q.1) You devote yourself to practice every day. Do you have a good way to change the mood/take a break?
Y: I am rather the type that can switch off and on very precisely. When I am not training, I am always relaxing! I treasure the things that I want to do then.

Q.2) You often travel around the world (for competitions). Is there a country that you want to visit for a private trip?
Y: Because I am currently living in this way (training in Toronto), there is no foreign country that I want to go to. If anything, I just want to be living comfortably in Japan!

Q.3) Living in Toronto, what is it that you feel is really different from living in Japan?
Y: In my case, because I am very conscious of the fact that I am in Toronto for skating, I feel that it is an environment where I can focus on skating. Besides that, the taste of foodstuff is a bit different from Japan. That is why I sometimes think, ahh I want to eat Japan’s rice.

-YUZU Album- Toronto photo1, photo2, photo3

Y: Toronto is clean and safe, and is a nice place to live in. Although it is a big city, there is a lot of nature, which is one thing that I like.

I take it all back!!! I'll never again complain about Yuzu's white costume, I swear. I will worship at the altar of the white costume!

Actually figure skating fandom is relaxed if you compare it with Idk football fans or other sports.

Or television series. This place is so nice compared to other fandoms, it's scary. I used to hang out in Stargate SG-1 fandom. It got very, very nasty. I've never seen anything even remotely resembling that here on the forum. :luv17:

Ah, Yuzu, I hear you. The best rice I ever had was in Japan. I would eat rice with every meal, too, if it were that yummy here. ;-)

Okay, tonight I am totally gonna try and sit down for some Dutch Yuzu commentary from Skate Canada. *nods*

Hi everyone, if you're flying any time soon and your plane offers free video entertainment streaming through Gogo Entertainment you might be able to watch The Magnificent Nine (Tono Risoku de Gozaru) in English.

They had it available to stream to your device for free using their app on my Delta flight last night, but make sure to download their app beforehand because it took me nearly an hour to get the app to download and install with the onboard wifi. Only had time to watch the end with Yuzuru's parts.

Well ... I was more thinking a program with a 4S and a 4Lo and a 4T and a 4Lz
I battle Yuzu related anxiety with chocolate. Which means that if I ever met him my opening line to him could be thank you for making me fat  Also sometimes with alcohol but that is kind of more awkward to mention ... and no, I'm not actually serious.

Oh talking about food, so true about Japanese rice. I completely understand him. Though there are a few other good ones, like Thai that are also very yummy. If you have the chance, try Jasmine rice, I got introduced to that thanks to some Chinese peeps and am ever so grateful.

Lord help us all if that day ever come :laugh2:
Maybe this is why he is in a chocolate commercial, to help my weak soul dealing with the anxiety whenever he jumps  thankfully he was not yet in a liquor commercial lol
P.S : Agreed about Japanese rice. I don't know what is so different about it, but they are so good  I can definitely understand the struggle of finding good quality rice, it makes my life easier to live in.

I find really cute that he likes machines  another thing i would love to do if i had the chance to be with him, explain electronics to him!
i am really frustrated, i have no internet at my house and i've not been able to catch up with twitter :(

Lord help us all if that day ever come :laugh2:
Maybe this is why he is in a chocolate commercial, to help my weak soul dealing with the anxiety whenever he jumps thankfully he was not yet in a liquor commercial lol

I think I'd probably revert to the situation that may or may have not happened during Sochi where there was this Nutella jar and a spoon. Plus, see, I was nice and I didn't mention the 4F  If he ever does do a liquor commercial I would so say he got me drunk. I think he'd find it funny!

And all this talk about food is making me hungry now.

Hello everyone I'm new to Yuzuru's fan pages. But I have been lurking for a while. The discussions on these pages brightens may day. And I agree about the chocolate, Lotte's commercials are better then ours chocloate commercials, they are with cow's.

Now you're giving me ideas  i need something to control my Yuzu-related anxiety and lately, Hanyu Pooh-san hasn't been enough...
