and that's why he's WC folks, because he can still fight it out no matter what, two comps back to back, he's got it. great stuff.

Looking at Yuzuru's back to back performances last year at NHK and GPF i guess he would deserve the WC much more than Fernandez. But people seems to have a short memory, oh well

Having 3 good ladies is such a surprise for Canadians that it's like a bounty of riches. I almost can't process it.

Just want to say again that Nathan's LP is so disappointing after seeing so much promise in his SP. Marina, please add choreography to it and dissuade Nathan from doing all of those quads.

It is a disappointment. There is so little content as opposed to the short program. I do see some improvements over Finlandia. His spins have improved and he looks more energetic than before. But I'm sick and tired of that 4S. It is the quad that gives him the most problems because the take off edge is on his injured hip. Same with the 3A, but at least he's doubling that to make it easy.

Before NHK I pray they get him to simplify his program so he can land his planned content properly and add more choreography so it does look so empty. His short was so elegant and graceful, I want to see more of that at nationals.

The American judge gave Denis a 6.25 on transitions while the Russian and Kazakh judge gave him a 8.75 on the same component.
The American judge also gave him 9.25 on SS, which was the highest mark in that component.

I kind of, very secretly, wish that the Canadian men's field was deep enough for 3 of our men to have such fans that they are argue over who is better than the other. For us it is Chan......... and everyone else.
Well you guys have really awesome women to argue over! Right now for us it is Ashley...then everyone else, lol.

But after Chan - there are a half dozen who are all right in there and any of them can be ahead of the others on any given day! Problem with the rest of the CAN men is that most of them do not have a lot of international experience and therefore do not get the benefit of the doubt when they do show up for these big events.

Urgh, I'm still so angry about the puddle thing :curse:

I'm rewatching Mura's and Fernandes's performances and, who knows, they might have fallen either way, but there's literally water splashing around. It just makes me so angry :gaah:

Fernandez wasn't landing on that puddle

I miss Nicky Slater so much, Nicky-Simon the only unbiased commentary of figure skating.

Mark Hanretty's opinions are so subjective, and he's clearly rooting for certain skaters.

silver and 4th place worth more than two bronzes. Kolyada and Voronov (or even Reynolds) still have their chances.

I loved the Simon + Chris duo the most, mainly because I grew up listening to those two guys.

I wonder if Nathan does the 4Z and 4F better than his other quads because they're better jumps for him, or because they're the first two jumps in his program and he's not tired.

I have to say the comments of the b.euro, Chris(, or is he Simon? I would appreciate someone to correct me;)) and Mark, is spot on!
Is Mark new addition to the team? I enjoy listening to their sharp and honest comments. Mark did an interview with TSL. And absolutely loved him.

I think Nathan is more comfortable with two jumps than edge jumps. Be that due to comfort or his hip hurting him on edge jumps is anyone's guess. He did a 2lo a 2A and a 4S that he fell on. He is clearly a toe guy for one reason or another.

Fernandez wasn't landing on that puddle

I was only starting to watch Fernandez's performance when I hit 'post', so got ahead of myself a little, oops :o:

Either way, the skaters have enough things to worry about when performing, a puddle shouldn't be one of them

I think Javi should cut the vocals or some of it on this routine. This is the third time I've seen him skate to this and I'm still not sold like I was when I saw Guy and Dolls for the first time. Elvis voice is really starting to bug me.
