The Russian ladies seem to love him a lot.
I meant if you compare their reaction to Yuzuru to north american ladies who are pretty lukewarm. Hahah.

Funny because I'm American, and I'm lukewarm to them (well, lukewarm to Gracie anyway; not at all a Wagner fan).

I think there's a general cultural difference in taste... and the Russians are probably more similar to Asians. Not saying that no Westerners will like his aesthetic, but more like the majority of the general population. I was at the tree-lighting skate-tacular where Javi and Johnny Weir were at NYC and I really cannot see Yuzuru being appreciated there by the majority of the audience, especially with the theme of the whole program they had going on. Imagine Yuzuru skating to jazzy Christmas songs in a santa outfit haha.

I think he can be appreciated. He's versatile. He's doing Prince. Anyone I show that is American finds him to be pretty fantastic. At Worlds the Boston crowd was supporting him greatly, especially in the SP.

Well, I don't know about cultural differences or anything, it's just from my observation. The US and Canadian ladies are not so hyped about Yuzuru from what I see, especially if you compare them to Russian ladies hahah (well, gabby and alaine kind of train with Yuzuru so I think at least for them I understand why they are not hyped lol).

I wasn't saying that's not a fair observation. I agree. I'm just saying my personal tastes, though American, aren't even geared towards most American ladies. Instead I'm a certified Yuzu uber, so maybe I go against the grain. And I was just saying I don't know if the US ladies are necessarily a fair representation of American skating fans in general. At the very least I appreciate that north american commentators on NBC, CBC, UHD all seem to be on the same page about his greatness. They run out of superlatives.

Oh lol I wasn't even referring to North American skating fans though. I'm pretty sure he has many admirers there. This is just what I noticed from North American ladies skater. Pairs and Ice dancers seem to be more hyped about him though. Meagan Duhamel, shibs and Madison chock seem to be fond of him from my observation.

I think there's a difference, especially when not in a skating competition, and it's a natural thing. There's a reason why k-pop and the like are so big in Asia but are pretty niche in North America. He is way more popular in China and Japan for example, and aesthetics play a big part.

I think it's more related to the ages. The american girls are older or they're the same age as Yuzuru, while the russians are teens, they're at the fangirl age:laugh:
But you're right about Madison Chock and the Shibs. I saw a video of Madison with Yuzu at Skate Canada and it was cute. She touched his costume, I think she liked it and Yuzuru's face was:biggrin:. I found the video https://www.instagram.com/p/BMLIeZMBvfT/

+ kaitlyn weaver ;) Madison seems fond of touching him as she's done it a few times during gala's (or his costumes?? )

Many ice dancers in general seem to like Yuzu. Opposite to the Russian ladies, most of them are older than him!

Kaitlyn Weaver was shown giving him a SO alongside Andrew and Ksenia Stolbova at the GPF, and she was the one who "pushed" him to start the quad battle at Worlds 2015
I think Madison was also one of the skaters who was telling him to go for a quad after the 2015 GPF Gala alongside Evan and Luca Lanotte. And Anna Capellini was recording that 4Lo with her phone.
And of course the Shibs seem to be close friends of Yuzu, too

Yes! Hahahah. Meagan, Kaitlyn and Madison are all older than Yuzuru though  I saw during the GPF Gala last year too, it seems like Maddie (and Luca too) is the one who encourage Yuzuru to do a quad battle

of course. For science! :agree2: Considering that he's a skating space kitten and we know practically nothing about his species, this would totally count as field studies. Strange new worlds and all.

Boldly go where no one has gone before?

Well, the experiment seem to be being carried out by fellow skaters, as we can see! But they don't quite know where you can rub space kittens.

Lol that SC video is so cute. Yuzu seems to be getting use to her touching his body now, before he would get surprised every time and pull back.

(That sounds kind of weird now that I think about it....it's more innocent then it sounds!)

Don't ever evoke this sentence again. I demand consideration for my well being. :roll5: :curse:
