Evgenia is the current big thing in figure skating. She is the ISU darling. That makes her automatically Russian federation darling, too. She is the last world champion. I understand why she is hyped so much. I will keep hoping Anna's time will come, too.

I think Anna's PCS could have been a bit higher but as long as she stays second, I'm good with it.

She also just looked injured to me judging from her jumps and skating. Not the usual spring to her jumps, and she looked a bit tentative & slow... she's such a fighter for delivering like that anyway, but I wished skaters wouldn't force themselves on the ice in moments like that. Hopefully it didn't make the injury worse! :sad21:

Maybe Rus fed said, you'll skate or you'll lose your spot for Euros or Worlds. She doesn't have that guaranteed in such a tight field so maybe she felt like she had to go out.

Although she really embodied the tango role so I guess that could help PCS. I still remember the time Boyang Jin did the Tango Amore even though he looked about five. Cognitive disconnect!

Yes, who knows... but IMO, Anna should have been allowed to WD and at least gotten a spot at Euros to proof herself further - she's the reigning WBM, just won both her GP events and the GPF bronze... she's the clear russian 2nd and a favorite for the worlds podium. But nooooooo, it's way smarter to endanger your health more and potentially make it so bad it will kick you out of a big event. If the RusFed really told her she had to skate, they are being flat out stupid
