People said she would be required to go through regionals/sectionals unless she had international competition around the same time, in those cases she would get a bye (such as a challenger series or Grand Prix assignment). Yuzu should be fine in that regard, Mao didn't go through regionals/sectionals that year since she competed at Japan Open and two grand prix events.

A bit OT but would that be the case for Dice and Sota had they been healthy enough for Nationals? They both skipped sectionals/regionals because of injury right? So if they get a bye because of international competition invitation, they would automatically qualify for Nats?Technically, shouldn't this apply to Mao as well? If she is sent for CS or GP? Thank you
I'm not sure, but I heard that Sota could still make Nationals under "recommendation" spot :think: Also, he'd be a seeded skater as a junior (won Jr. Nats last year) so he might have been able to skate at Sr. Nats as a Jr.
As for Dice, I don't know because he did compete at Sectionals and withdrew after the SP.

Yeah, same with Mao from last season and next season as well. I don't expect neither of them to compete at regionals/sectionals but we can spend about 20 pages discussing which CS and GP he'll be sent to so he can get byes!

Yeah, his name is very beautiful in Mandarin. And the google translate pronunciation is also correct. I think actually these four characters share same meaning with Japanese. 羽 indicating feather and 生 indicating born (the combination of them make ppl think of born as a bird flying in the sky), and 結弦 somehow means tied a string of a bow or sometimes it also make me think about stringe of instrument. Then you can picture the meaning of his whole name an angel born with feather wings and holding a bow or a harp in his hand. But actually it contains more concept than that, sorry I can't explain it, just like a poem. (or using flying feather to weave a piece of string, how fairy it is !)
And also this name is rare compared to other Japanese names we know, and rareness makes it precious.
And I know that Yuzu can pronounce his Chinese name.. (We all know how much he likes to mimic others actions/sound...) He can say his Chinese name very correct (even more correct than some Chinese, Chinese always made mistake on the pronunciation of 弦 ).
The most frequent name we call him yes it is "哈牛" coming from "ha-nyu"， and now it is even simplified as "nyu" (牛：cow). Although the animal doesn't looks like him, but now I think cow is the most cute animal in the world because of him
And we are good at picking nickname for him, and each one may correspond to one of his costume or program. Such as for this season, we original get "little white bear" "great white swan" and "Prince of Jiu Zhai gou (known for its beautiful scenario, the color looks quite similar with his costume")", but then he changed his "little white bear" costume to .... "purple banana".....

during 2015WC, little medal ceremony, when the host said his name, he just repeated.
From the different forums, many fans in China call him ‘哈牛 (laughing cow)’, ‘牛牛 (cow)’, ‘柚子 (pomelo)’, as they are all phonetically similar to his Japanese family name 'Hanyu’. Or ‘jie xian’, ‘little angel’.
