I will flatter myself

that you have me in mind (as one of the "many people") regarding this case.
But ... I (and I do not think I am alone) was not part of any supposed "trend"

of picking on Skate Canada.
I would have been equally unhappy if ANY federation had given the appearance of doing so.
I had never had any previous reason to think badly of Skate Canada, so its own press release (with its deafening silence on who initiated the withdrawal) was indeed disillusioning.
I like lots of Canadian skaters: Tessa/Scott, Liam, Patrick, Kaetlyn, Maddie/Zhao Kai :sad4:, to name a few.
I had to endure ridicule on GS for being an American who openly preferred V/M.
I was a rare voice standing up for KMT many times in multiple threads when she kept getting criticized for her career choices.
If you're going to imply that I am inherently anti-Canada because of one instance of questioning Skate Canada (with reasonable cause, IMO), then it would be just as fair to apply the same criterion to Canadian members of GS -- and to pigeonhole some of them as anti-Canada too (although they [like me] have shown lots of support for Canada as well).
ETA: Happy New Year

to all members of GS, whether Canadian or non-Canadian.
