2017 U.S. Nationals Championship Ladies SP

8 points behind Chen?

Yes, and rightly so. I love Gracie but, she's an experienced multi-World Team Member. She had a decent skate but unfortunately, that's all it was, decent. Karen was like a breath of fresh air. Gracie still has the scoring potential to make the team and hopefully, seeing that she can still score well after missing her flip will help her relax. She doesn't haven't to win this event to be taken seriously at Worlds. Ashley proved that last year. Gracie just needs to hold it together here and she'll make the team.

Wait, Gracie places ahead of Mariah after losing a jump, when Mariah's biggest error was a fall? To the protocols...

She gets high +GOE on spins/steps basically.

Honestly the score was about right for Gracie, IMO. But I'm in the minority I guess.

Umm no way should Gracie be ahead of Mariah..even with a fall Mariah committed and sold the program all the way to the final note of the music. Gracie might have as well been a ghost for all she was giving out there after the mistake.

I want Karen to win this whole competition. I've been a huge fan of her for years, she's grown so much as a skater!

My guess is that Nagasu is not going for the 3A... doesn't seem to be practicing it much in the warmup. Lots of combos and loops.

I think In this case Mariah deserved to be ahead.

People keep saying this, what does it mean? Shoma left magical dust somewhere? Haha.

They were on the same ice rink in Chicago over the New Years. Shoma was on a training stint at Chicago and Gracie was visiting family for the holidays in Chicago as well.
