Random Confessions

You trained her well..... I mean, your girl's got good taste

My parents also went with the "last resort" method when I was little. Like that one time, when I was sick and couldn't go to kindergarten. Which was kind of inconvenient at the time because there were some huge renovations going on at our house. So my mom had to deal with handyman and stuff that didn't work as planned, and a whiny sick kid on top of it all. So she sat the kid down to watch a cute little bunny cartoon that happened to be on TV, while she went back to deal with the renovation stuff..... fun fact: the cute little bunny movie was Watership Down, and to this day I am traumatized! (and I let her know any chance I get  every time the conversation comes to anything bunny-related, she already knows what's going to come up again. "wah wah wah, just one single time I didn't check 20 times before I let you watch something as a kid" I know, I'm mean.)

When my 4 year and 6 months daughter saw Yuzu's new Hope and Legacy costume, she named him a boy tinker bell  Now she is asking to buy Yuzu doll I don't know how to get that for her

I like where this thread is going!! To think that it all started because I was watching Legally Blonde one day

I was going to buy one paczki and ended up buying four whoops.

woot! Fat Thursday is tomorrow, traditionally in Poland it is a day of eating an abundance of those! Additionally, there are also 'chrusty' or other name 'faworki' - apparently 'Angel wings' in English :)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angel_wings

and paczki are coming with many delicious fillings - my faves were always rose jam and cherry jam , it will a tough day tomorrow looking at all those peple eating them while I can't...:hopelessness:

I could confess for days. I'm weird.

I don't like coffee, I don't care much for alcohol and I'm married to my first and only boyfriend (we've been together almost 23 years). Those are just the small confessions.

No Name Face, this is not a confession, but I am fascinated, Fat *Thursday*? I have never heard of that.

In my faith tradition we have Shrove Tuesday, where we eat pancakes. And have pancake races at church.

And where I now live, settled originally by emigrants from Germany and Eastern Europe, they eat "fastnacht" doughnuts.

Here's a confession: I never met a sweet carb I didn't like, but fastnachts taste like doughy fried cardboard. Yuk.:disapp:

I hate golf and basketball, but I'll watch if Terry Gannon is commentating. I find him incredibly attractive... and I'm pretty sure he's old enough to technically be my dad lol

hello el henry!:)

Fat Thursday is a long-time tradition in Poland, it's last Thursday before Lent and we're feasting on fatty goodness, paczki and chrusty/faworki (aka Angel wings). It's due to celebration of the last days of carnival.

And paczki are coming with various fillings, imagination is the limit - jam, chocolate, cocoa/vanilla cream, caramel, fruits...And they are either covered with sugar powder or a glaze :), traditionally they are fried in oil, but I fancy more those baked. Chrusty/faworki (Angel wings) are also made of fried dough too, but they are just sprinkled with sugar powder, they are delicious too!

And in bigger cities, there are some long-tradition bakeries with 'famous' paczki  some ppl are getting crazy and go at night to stand in a queue to get the goody as first thing in the morning :)

That's the "fangirl" in us, Toni! I don't hate golf or basketball, but I really don't follow either sport. There were times when Terry cohosted the Rose Parade on New Year's Day. Even if we didn't  that parade, we would still tune in to see/hear him!

I have been doing an internship at the Psychiatry Departement for three days now... I actually can say that people can be a lot weirder :D:D

That's true. My grandma makes pączki with green tomatoes jam :) I prefer faworki to pączki though ;)

Well I'm a woman in my late 30's that still follows a boyband around. I've done cruises, meet & greets, concerts, so there's that.
