2017 Jr Worlds Short Dance

Yes I know. It's just that last names ending in -ko are generally considered to be of Ukranian origins. Just like -sky/ski are of Polish origins. That's why I made that post. :)

About other "unpronouncable" names... the amount of time commentators had with Tuktamysheva is just :hslap:

Sorry. To me reading it, it sounded like you had only just come across them for the first time.

It can be funny and frustrating at the same time how some names get butchered.

Fashion Police Citation #3 to Mr Wunderlich. Those pants and shirt are cut all wrong for you. They make you look like a mid-level bank manager on a "club" date. You're too young to look this dumpy.

i think canada should have kept carreira .... ;)

You can't keep everybody!

If you want to see as many Canadians as possible getting to compete internationally on a regular basis, you have to share them out. ;)

See it as sharing the love! :agree:

I'm wondering whether the Wunderlich has any association with the famous tenor Wunderlich. Though it is likely the name might be a common surname in Germany.

Their choice of color is not good as the light blue doesn't make them stand out on the ice.

And number 4 to her for the illusion netting. I believe it's our first netting infraction of the night, which is pretty remarkable, but it's a really bad one.

Not too young. I think she is the one of the oldest here :)

Good point. It is a really beautiful dress, but the illusion mesh being so much darker than her skin really spoiled the whole look.

Note to auser: I tend to think of all the very 1950s programs as "sock hop" dances. Not my favorite period of music. But that's really a matter of De gustibus non est diputandum. The Canadians really skated it well; it's just not my cuppa.

She can't dance with herself and we're running low on Pojes and Moirs so it's for the best we let her go.

Feel so spoiled to be able to watch so many ice dance teams with more to come and it is only 12:30 am here.:hap10: I won't be so lucky for senior worlds.

Carreira/Ponomarenko have so much potential but I really dread them being saddled with boring Igor programs for the rest of their careers.

Only bad part is if you want to stay up to watch the men. I think I might have to sleep and wake up again in a few hours.

Happy that Weaver and Gilles have contributed to great Canadian ice dance tradition
