Does anyone know where that interview with Brian Orser regarding Yuzuru's skating skills before he arrived at TCC is?

YUZU 桑的文档里藏着盆地 has kindly approved my Eng trans of their Mandarin subs, so now you can have Eng CC captions for the Yuzuru Icarus MAD! :D Thanks YUZU 桑的文档里藏着盆地 for the approval! Also, please forgive any mistakes cos' it's an Eng trans of a Mandarin trans of Japanese.

Go forth and boost this vid's views! It's one of my all time fave MADs with a really good control of story flow, pace and climax with highs and lows at the appropriate moments. :yes2:

Speaking of coaching, we all know about Boston and how Brian had to help Javi, and he didnt know about Yuz's anxiety before skating and then people pointed fingers. This year, Brian mentioned that he did not know how spooked Javi was feeling backstage, listening to all the high marks and he said he wished he had known. Since yuzu was done skating first, there was lots of time for the coaches to be with Javi before he skated. Javi is much better at communicating, yet did not tell them what was bothering him. So, my conclusion is that sometimes even a coach being available will not help unless they know there is an issue... so communication is absolutely key. You can read a lot from body language, but if that told people everything none of us would speak. I am just glad they are trying to address everything for the next time.

And bravo to all those people who did point fingers at Brian for neglecting Yuzu last year. Brian brought it on himself with many of the comments he made throughout the season about Yuzu and then his ridiculous over-the-top behavior after Javi won the gold. You can't betray your feelings like that when you're coaching two direct competitors. Yes, of course you're going to favor one over the other; it's almost impossible not to. And I can totally understand why he would prefer Javi winning to Yuzu. But you can't be so obvious about it and then not expect blowback from Yuzu's side.

I also think the "finger pointing" from fans may have helped Yuzu be more assertive with Brian and Tracy about the lack of attention he was getting. Complaining to your coaches is not easy for someone from Yuzu's culture. I work in academic medicine (education of medical students and residents) and I see this all the time with kids from non-Western countries.

so, I heard that if your body used to rotate 4 times it's will be harder to jump triple, so what's the odd to Yuzu pull Med next season and skate clean on all his competition? he used to jump quads by now unlike a cople of season ago

I mean, if win SC is againts the nature, Yuzu shall sign for CoR instead, so 'clean for all season long' can happen

imagine the PCS boots if he goes clean through all the GP series

Yeah right, it's finger pointing here that helped Brian realise his mistakes.
Could you for once leave Brian in peace? I'm getting tired of these continuous jabs into him all the time from you. Everyone makes mistakes for your information - ok, Javi got neglected! He was the victim this time.
If Yuzu ever decides to leave Brian, I'll be fine with that, but until he does it, I respect his decision to stick with TCC and won't speak ill of anyone there

I will be worried if he is clean early in the season, to be honest. That means he is peaking early. With a new jump + his layout, statistically speaking, he can't go clean all the time. Yuzuru never had a good early GP almost his entire senior career. He would either bomb the short or the free. 2011 CoC, great short, messy free; 2012 SA, great short, messy free; 2013 SC, messy in general; 2014, we don't speak of it; 2015, messy short, good free; 2016, disastrous short, ok free.

I hope he won't bomb so much though. Maybe 1 mistake in the short and at most 2 mistake in the free (and 1 of it is not a fall) would be pretty great to start the season. I hope something like his GPF 16 performance could be his low average.

So if Yuzu gets in CoR and if I'm lucky enough to get tickets, I'll be seeing a very messy Yuzu... ok, messy Yuzu is still worth something!

I mean Yuzu being Yuzu he will most probably not go for a layout that will make it possible to be clean from start to finish  If he went clean in the first GP event he would probably go back to his hotel room and think about ways to make his layout more difficult

Pretty sure he would still have a pretty good free/short though. I do hope he won't bomb both. And you get to see his programs in its beta version, that is always a bonus  My best wish is that his low average from now on could be something like his GPF 16 performance?

1 (not so costly) mistake in the short, in the free : 1 fall (not in the combo hopefully, amen) and 1 pop/hands down/stepout. It would still score him pretty big, over 290-300 which is good.

I mean not the 'clean' ala NHK+GPF'15 clean, sure he still can wobbling some his jump landing or get level 3 for sstq :laugh2:

my only hope is he will enter the Olympic season injury free :)

Sorry if its already been posted, but Max has retweeted the chinese fans GOE video from a few pages back https://twitter.com/max_ambesi/status/850752717089886208

As expected of Yuzu's biggest fanboy 😁

He also shared it on facebook (his own page + italian figure skating facebook group): https://www.facebook.com/groups/577867485622370/permalink/1296366007105844/

with following comment:

[With passion and competence, some chinese friends put up a video that compares Yuzuru Hanyu, Javier Fernandez and Shoma Uno, [the video] shows a precise detailed study that aims to show the technique of some of the most worthy (for Base Value points) jumps and it is especially useful to evaluate independently what could be the correct GOE to give to each element.

It isn't to be argumentative (or there's no wish to be controversial), but only a little bit gold old educational activity (<- sorry, my translation here sucks, but I'm not sure how to translate it better lol)

It's worth it, have fun!]

uploaded more Yuzuru clips:
Gala finale
The end of Hope & Legacy plus Kiss & Cry (I had a lot of obstructions to my view. that damn crane camera )

Thank you so much for posting the end of H&L with a closeup of his "guts pose" at the end where he made the number 1 gesture. That was a moment the TV cameras should have caught and aired. Such bad editing.

Off topic, something old, but i have to gush about this, guys.
I just love the face he makes after they asked him "We want to see your long limbs!" He doesn't seem to like that kind of attention at all hahaha (But then... Purple Pants of Sin...)

Yet other times he's like "Imma take my shirt off and go around the rink half nekkid." Yuzu is there no in-between??

And i am in love with his lines. This one is especially for Fayruza <3

Yes, he has lovely lines and extension. The way he moves his arm up and positions his fingers is so pretty. And the best part is he knows to keep his shoulders down even when raising his arm to avoid the look and feel of tenseness in the upper body. :luv17:
