2017 GP Skate Canada Ladies SP

So far, no one has yelled "IT'S CANADAAAA!" a la Carol Lane saying "it's Russia!" at Rostelecom ... yet.

There is just no reason for a 3 point PCS gap between Pogo and Osmond. Except of course that this event is you know where. Until today, their PB SP PCS was around 35. And they both skate similarly in almost all PCS areas. I would give slightly higher mark in CH to Osmond but that would be offset by much higher mark to Pogo in TR.

Otherwise, text-book jumps from Osmond as usual. But also as usual telegraphed across the universe. And this is a good programme for her. I dare to say she could challenge Medvedeva and Zagitova for the lead after SP at the Olympics if she re-arrange her jumps to increase TES. Well done.

URs allllll over the place. The technical panel appears to be on top of their game, both here and at Rostelecom.

Is anyone else excited to see Anna AND Kaetlyn BOTH do "Black Swan" / "Swan Lake" tomorrow?? Please let them go back-to-back!!

I was an Osmond skeptic.

Now, I'm not. That was very very good.

Looking forward to the FP, and I rarely watch ladies any more.

Oh c'mon guys. I know people are looking for anything to grasp onto about how Canada is also cheating after Carol's moronic comments at Rostelecom (I am too to be honest), but give credit where credit is due. Osmond's short was fantastic and the score was entirely appropriate.

Also, Anna lost quite a bit on her last two spins. She was wobbly finding the camel position after the fly and then her layback didn't have the usual Bielmann nor usual speed. Both were graded a Level 3 and didn't get very good GOE, so she lost about 2 points overall.

Osmond was wonderful. I thought the score was very well-deserved. They could have gone higher but they didn't.

Especially after this disaster of an event. Kaetlyn skated with an air of confidence that was in sharp contrast with the rest of the field.
