400!!!!!! :hb::points::dance::party2::rock::dance3::hb:
Party Time! And guys I'll transcribe the german Eurosport commentary later and then translate it, if there is any interest? I wouldn't want to offend anyone with offering! ;)

That would be great. You won't offend. Us Shoma fans are strong. :2thumbs: We can take constructive criticism, fake criticism, repetitive critiscm, along with sheer adoration!

Now I can't guarantee what will happen in cyberspace to your translation. :)

I'm not a translator, that's why I also post the original. I know there is wrong info in there, it's exactly what was said.

Skate Canada, German Eurosport, Sigi Heinrich

Short

Because most brightly, in the short already, shone Shoma Uno from Japan. An awesome short, an awesome competition all in all, that Shoma delivered here in Canada. Only Yuzuru Hanyu, his fellow country man ever reached higher points than Shomo (sic!) Uno. 103.62 points in the short only! Faultless! Outstanding! I believe with this short Shoma gifted Patrick Chan a sleepless Night and showed the Canadian, that this year might actually be the year that will be different, than most people think. Even Yuzuru Hanyu last week in Moscow couldn't keep up with the performance Shoma Uno delivered here. 103,62 points, almost 10 points more than Patrick Chan and that only in the short program!

Long

And this, dear audience, is the man that entrances us into storms of enthusiasm, there is no question! Let's watch this calmly! Shoma Uno from Japan who is storming from one top performance to the next here. Only Yuzuru Hanyu, his country man has ever reached that high of a score in the short, or in the long or alltogether. A firework of quadruple jumps. The great thing about Shoma Uno is, that his quadruples are not at the beginning of the program, alas the hard stuff is done now, no, no, he's building his long program around them. With Music from...the last opera of Giacomo Puccini Turandot.

Easy as you like, the Loop!

I think this was the only insecurity of the whole program..
..na, there was another insecurity. Yes, you cannot really think about it, he wasn't even perfect.

These are triple axels to savour!

For a change it's not Luciano Pavarotti but Jose Carreras.

Well, that was the little fault I mentioned earlier, the quadruple toeloop, but seriously when does he jump that one? After two thirds of his long program.

A little japanese with the mission to attack: Shoma Uno. If he shows this long program at the Olympic Games, without mistakes, then Javier Fernandez, and possibly even Yuzuru Hanyu, yes, his colleagues will make big, big eyes and long faces. Shoma Uno really was convincing here in Canada. And that even with mistakes. 301.10 points at the end.

Kurzprogramm Zusammenfassung
S(igi Heinrich):

EDIT: 400 pages in the Shoma FF! :hb: Way to go people! :clap:

To think a year ago June we were at 100 pages and there were usually 3 or 4 of us in here posting! :biggrin:
:bow: :bow: :bow: :bow: :bow: :bow: Hooray for the prince/king!

Thank you for all the translations! I'm so confused sometimes at commentators factual inaccuracies, though. Like the Dutch commentary... Shoma started doing the 4Lo last season, it's not a new element this season...

Thanks for the translations, Winnie and MaiKatze! (Verit too, via Twitter). Some of you have probably seen this, but Jason made a dance video for Skate Canada. He's such a ray of sunshine. Shoma is at the 38-40 second mark, where Jason shakes/massages his shoulders (before the award ceremony?). Did he attend the banquet, though? I couldn't find any pictures.

The medal is just OK and we can see it, unlike some medals that are smaller than the
small medal ceremony medals. Boy that is a lot of medals in one sentence. :laugh:

Shoma looks tired after that long flight, nap time for him.

GO Shoma!:yahoo::clap::dance:

Do you think he will also go to France a week earlier? Even though he arrived so early, for some reason this competition seemed so much more exhausting to me than Lombardia. He was sweating like mad after Turandot and telling Fluffy how he 'died' out there. So many Quads surely take their toll on the stamina.

Shoma arrived in HND Tokyo airport, then ate a rice ball & 唐揚 Karaage fried chicken like lol. maybe then again fly to Nagoya I guess.

I think he will go early. Not only was he sweating profusely, I have never seen him panting like that in the K & C. Also wondered if he didn't have the energy to do his cantilever without the hand on the ice...There are a few things like this that lead me to believe that he does have an injury that might be affecting his stamina. It's not taking him out of commission, but it's draining him (my speculation only). And he smiled during the FS which we now know means he's tired! But why oh why is he so cute???!!! :dance: :o: :hap10:

Say it isn't so....don't make me panic. DO NOT WANT! :cry::sad21:

I hope he does not go to France early..

This is just my speculation. Shoma arrived 1 week early for SC. We had no news of him training during that time. You know how sometimes
a Federation will hire out a ice rink for their team to train before a big competition. As far as we know Team Japan did not do that.
Shoma was nowhere to be found and I think he was enjoying himself with his family touring around Canada. Which means he probably did
not do daily run throughs of his programs for almost 1 week. I believe this could affect his stamina and why he was sweating
profusely after his FS. Not to mention jumping the quads, a possible ankle injury and new boots which he himself said he was breaking in.

But then Shoma should also come to France a week in advance and enjoy cheese-, or should I say meat-fondue, the snowy peaks of the beautiful french alps, perhaps a night in a chalet with a fireplace.....oh, the possibilities are endless. Then roll back into Grenoble...win silver and rest three weeks until GPF. Easy as that! :dev2:

Sounds nice! To bad you are not going to France, you could show him the sights and maybe where he can find the meat-fondue or side of beef ,and make sure he does
his run-throughs so when leaves Grenoble it will be Gold and not Silver for the Winter Prince. :bow:

Anyone find Banquet photos of Shoma?

Well, I'm not french and I never went there, so no showing of the sights either way. Gold or Silver...does that really matter at this point? :) To Shoma perhaps, I just don't want him to further injure/exhaust himself and take things easy for the GPF. It will be mighty interesting if Javier wins at CoC, too and well, I always felt like France was Javier's "Home GP" anyway. Let's see what happens.
