2017 GP Cup of China Mens FS

The PCS were cray, but he still was the clear winner in this competition given that nobody (other than Aaron in the FS) really brought their best.

Mika definitely earned his spot in the GPF, and had that brilliant SP to take away from this.

Men discipline keep letting me down again and again. So little good perfomances overal. I dont know why i keep watching it.

Don't give up on them, they have these ridiculously difficult layouts. All of them are building up, slowly but constantly. I have the feeling that second half of the season, or even GPF, will be mind-blowing. Give them another chance :agree:

Yeah, there aren't really any scenarios where Misha wouldn't go...

what a disaster for javi
he could have easily won this

but who knows. dont going to grand prix final may be an advantage also

he surely is also affected by orsers health problems!

What happened? Javi and Patrick doing so terrible this GP season... It makes me sad.

Congrats to Kolyada! I sort of hoped he won more definitively, but this was a surprise win either way. Into the finals he goes...

Cup of China strikes again. What happened with a Javi was tragic. Boyang peaks late, so I’m not worried about him. Kolyada looks good for the GPF, now that Javi and Patrick are out. But seriously, this is Boyang’s 3rd silver in the CoC. At this rate he’ll be a perentual silver medalist in his own country’s GP.

Congrats to Max for his bronze and winning the free skate.

Interesting! I am so happy for Max. That was a decent showing for early in the season. He is a dark horse! His PCSs need some work. Frankly, I don't see how Max's PCSs are just 4 points higher than Vincent Zhou's. This is another example of how judges give good PCSs to skaters who can jump and don't distinguish their PCSs from those who truly have great expression, performance, transitions. I don't want to see skaters do crossovers across the ice, flail their arms and jump.

Vincent needs to do what Nathan did before the GPF last season and take at least one quad out and skate clean. He doesn't have the stamina of Nathan to do all those quads and also he needs to stop bombing his SP's. He would have medaled here if he didn't.

He got 89 a couple weeks ago for a FS with 4 deductions

The judges clearly have been told to push

In Mother Russia, you don't earn PCS, PCS earn you! :p

But honestly, Kolyada still deserves to win from his brilliant SP. Just sad how the whole LP went here. *sigh*

Yep. And for those who think I am too harsh on Mikhail - this is exactly why. It's disgusting. Nobody liked it when they did it with Kovtun a few seasons ago either.

LOL that PCS for both Kolyada and Javier.

Ah well.

Javier 6th though, good bye GPF. I don't think that's good but he can try and regroup for Europeans. Congratulations to Kolyada for the win and GPF!
