Nathan Chen

@sheetz: It's geoblocked. Can't see the vid.

Well I'm sure someone will upload it somewhere, but you can also try using a VPN. I sometimes use the Hoxx attachment for Firefox to pretend I live on a different continent.

Nathan is on the cover of the November issue of Skating magazine. Wonder if we'll ever get to see his Champs Camp photoshoot pics.

Still no word on which other major sponsor Nathan has signed up with. I'm stumped as to who it could be.

Nathan's episode of the Champion Within is now available online.

It's not a long segment but worth watching. Highlights include Nathan strumming on the guitar, and appearances by Ashley and Mariah. Nathan says he's pretty shy and still not comfortable speaking. Ashley says he never really spoke to her until 2016!

The pic of Nathan looks like it was taken from the same photoshoot as this one from his instagram

Thanks for uploading this. Unfortunately the NBC video cannot be seen from my location (so says the site), don't know why...does anyone has the same problem?

Same problem here. It's geoblocked. I have to use a proxy just to see it.
But you can find snippets of the Nathan portion of the vid in Twitter. :)

As was mentioned already the site is geoblocked. Nathan's Weibo fanclub has uploaded it here. If you can't view that then you can also try the Hoxx extension for Firefox or Chrome to view it on the NBC site. As a last resort I can download it and put it on my Google drive.

Thanks, the Weibo link works (at least for me)! :)

10 Questions for Nathan Chen

Q1: What’s the most important app on your iphone?
A1: Instagram. I’m an Instagram freak so I’m constantly checking it.

Q2: Most impressive scene from the Olympics?
A2: I saw it on TV. A track and field athlete got injured and his dad came in from the crowd to help him cross the finish line. (Derek Redmond (GBR) from the Barcelona Olympics)

Q3: Any rituals before a competition?
A3: I put on my left skate first. I also lace up my left skate first.

Q4: What’s your favorite skating program?
A4: There are too many, so I’ll have to pass on that question.

Q5: Do you have memories of the 2002 Olympics in your hometown of SLC?
A5: I was only 2 so I don’t have any real memories of it, but I watched all the videos afterwards. SLC was a ski town but as a result of the Games they built lots of ice rinks. I started skating that way. That’s why I think it’s good to have the Games in different cities because you can discover unexpected talents.

Q6: Who were your idols as a child?
A6: Evgeni Plushenko, whom I knew from the SLC games, and Michael Phelps.

Q7: What are your favorite foods?
A7: Pasta and sushi.

Q8: Any special skills apart from skating?
A8: Guitar. But unlike skating I’m not so good to where’d you go “Wow!” or anything.

Q9: Favorite sports teams?
A9: Utah Jazz from the NBA. I love the NBA so there are lots of players I love, like LeBron James.

Q10: What do you do to relax?
A10: I train out in California so when I’m there I go down to the beach. I can relax just watching the surfers, the waves, and the ocean.

Bonus Q: What are your future dreams?
Bonus A: I want to continue being involved with the Olympic Movement. I’m interested in medicine, so I’d like to be on the board of a medical school. Although I don’t have time to study right now.
