When I saw the clip, I was really worried about possible knee injury caused by the torque, but this makes me hopeful that it's "just" a (hopefully minor) ankle sprain.
Yeah, hopefully. I twisted my knee relatively recently and it stung a ton whenever I moved it in the slightly wrong manner and it just completely gave out under me from time to time, but it only took about 2 weeks to perfectly recover. We'd hope it's something like that because actual knee injuries can take almost a year to recover fully.
But at least, it shows he has grown and knows better than going to compete with something that can get worse. I’m not surprised he cried, considering he’s missing GPF in his home country. I hope he’ll get better soon, at least mentally. He has so much support from all around, we know he will come back strong.

no doubt for me that it took A LOT of strength from Yuzuru to make that decision - he's not the one who gives up easily, but I'm glad that his health and 'bigger picture/broader perspective' thinking won. He needs to take care of himself on a first place to let all the people enjoy him in the best, fullest way. The perfectionist in him wants to give it all and make people to feel it in equal measure. The beauty of his skating won't go anywhere just because he won't skate at NHK and GPF. Looking forward to see him competing again.

, this is unfortunately the effect of us being so emotionally, personally invested in skaters, everything happening to them and I understand You being emotional. This is a hard moment for lots of people, because Yuzuru got used us to show off the strength through competition, his strive to achieve more and challenge himself in the air of rivalry - and it's a feeling of being 'out of place' not only for us, but also for Him I think. Sure, it would be a strange feeling not to see Him at GPF being held in Japan, but for me his champion's spirit shows now in a form of being responsible and conscious about himself and making his health and well-being of his body as focus points, especially looking further at Olympics AND beyond that, where he probably wants to set goals too.
