Polina Tsurskaya

What a Free Skate. I love that program. Now I really want to see Polina at the Olympics live and see her huge jumps.

So happy for Polina!!

We need to realize that aside from getting her jumps done, her spins in both SP and FS all received level 4. That is a feat itself since she struggled with it for a long time. Her Step Sequence also improved from level 3 in the SP and level 4 in the FS!

Yes her spins have come a long, long way since her debut junior season... no doubt she worked very very hard on them. She also had the most gorgeous and spellbinding illusion spin last season! I hope she brings it back at some point.

Polina made a strong statement today. I hope she'll get the 3rd spot in Russian Team

her spins are simple yet get level 4s this is good to revise spins for skaters with sensitive back issues, take not Anna Pogorilaya.

I'm so happy for Polina's perfect senior debut! I think the music is interesting from the film about Edith Piaf, but the voice over in the beginning is an overkill, and somehow the choreography is still juniorish. The new dress is not as pretty as the previous one that we saw at 2nd Stage of Russian Cup in my opinion. I hope she will work more on the choreography of her program. Can't wait to see her live at Skate America and will be rooting for her win there!

Some skaters have harder spins but doesnt hold the position longer. I think that judges are giving extra attention on that lately but I think Eteri's camp have figured this out already because I noticed theirs are done longer now. Just watch Zagitova.

Polina needs to be careful and have to improve it more because I expect she will be scrutinize in Skate America especially she is now a big threat to their ladies there.

Polina was so amazing, I have no words!!

I can't believe she is finally back, locking healthy and strong and smiling in the KnC. Hopefully she can keep this up and skate similarly well at SA. She has a really good shot at wining there and making the final. Go Polya!! :cheer:

Polina was wonderful!!. I am so glad that she got Skate America and I will get see her live :yahoo:. I invited to my mom and she usually does not like ladies very much because she think their jumps are not very impressive like those of the men, I am sure she will be delighted with Polina.

Happy news to wake up to! Well done, Polina, for a beautiful FS! :yay: :hap93: :clapper: What a wonderful debut. :luv17: I hope she slays at her next event!

Well I wasn't a fan of her FS but today I love it ... I think she was the best in NHK ... And I don't understand why she was in 3 seh deserves at least the 2...

I like her performance today. But I hope they give her a better dress. It’s black and too plain for her.

Wow Polina! What a statuesque gala performance! Especially the beginning - how delicate and elegant. Just sheer beauty!

I hope that she gets sent to the Olympics because I love her jumps. Not sure if the Russian Skating Federation would allow three ladies of the same coach to make the team but I think it's possible!

I am afraid CSKA will somehow pull one of their ladies in.

Me too. I don't want it to happen...
There is hope though as the Fed seems to be realizing that Eteri has the most successful skaters. And they are giving her more influence. Just look at the JGP this year. All of her girls got second spots. They merited it, for sure. But they have a good coach who has good reputation and that has also helped them to become so successful.
Anyway I hope the Fed realizes that sending three of Eteri's girls means that there's three medal shots. Sending a CSKA girl does not necessarily mean so. And Eteri seems to be doing better than Buianova recently...two of Eteri's three seniors have GP golds, and one has a bronze but will probably get a gold.
Buianova has a skater with a bronze and a fourth and a skater with a silver who faces a tough field next week. Maria tends to get UR calls and Elena is inconsistent. Eteri's girls have neither of those problems.
So I hope that the Fed uses logic, and doesn't somehow inflate Buianova's students' scores at Nationals.

I'm not sure because Maria tends to be inconsistent and receives UR's. At the French Grand Prix event, I'm sure that first place will come to Alina Zagitova and Katelyn Osmond. Maria can get bronze but she's not one of the judge's favorites. The only way that Maria can get higher than bronze is if either Alina will have a meltdown (not likely) or Katelyn melts down (possible in the free skate).

Does anybody know the name of the song of Polina Free Skate? The one between Nocturne and Little Sparrow
