Her StSq in her SP has always been level 3 though, if I were not mistaken
Would be a shame. Her pcs categories are miles ahead of zagitova and the gap should be well into the double digits. But for one reason or another pcs inflation dilutes the gap massively.
Had Zhenya been here, I don't think we would have seen these scores. Her presence would have capped some of this PCS nonsense. I think she is also aware of it, and how close Alina is now, so she really wanted to be here. But depending how Europeans turn out, she can still reset the situation, especially as Carolina is going to be there, so both of them might help push it all down. Alina's PCS won't be as high as they were here by default, as these are Nationals, but if Zhenya is clean, I expect at least some reestablishing of the order. Sotskova will never score this internationally in any case.
time to sum it up
The discovery: Anna Tarusina
The dissappointment: Elena Radionova
The breakthrough: Alena Kostornaia
The slayer: Alina Zagitova
The best CSKA bonus: Maria Sotskova
The best non-CSKA bonus: Stanislava Konstantinova
The underscored one: Anastasia Gubanova
The unlucky one: Polina Tsurskaya
The most surprising thing for me was that TAT have seen 4S from Radionova.
Maybe next year she will be more competitive.
i wonder if TAT was sleeping while watching this... because Lena struggles with triples so hard recently...
Superlatives!
Best dress: Masha Sotskova and Sofia Samodurova
Best skate: Alina Zagitova
Best combo: Alina Zagitova and Polina Tsurskaya
Best rippons: Daria Panenkova
Best breakthrough: Stanislava Konstantinova and Serafima Sakhanovich
Best new discovery: Anna Tarusina
Best music: Valeriia Mikhailova
Best slayer: Alena Kostornaia
Best CSKA bonus: Elena Radionova
Which Sotskova’s dress do you think was best dress? The awful pink one that made her look like a candy floss, or the grey one that made her look like a mouse? I am usually not very picky with skaters dresses, but I thought her selection this season was rather unfortunate. Luckily her skating is much better than last season, but the dresses are going downhill.

Would have been very strong for that seasons jgp and already be a very established name. Such a shame. Hope she can pull through. Always cheering for her. Here is she in April 2016, before her injury. She was then ahead of Konstantinova, Gubanova, Panenkova and Samodurova.

Re:Radionova and Tuktamysheva ...
You think maybe it's hard for them (especially Tuk) to be motivated especially when you know you've been passed over as the favorites. By next round who will still be a fav I wonder. It changes every Olympics (even seasons) in Russia.

By 2022 I expect Anya to have a similar(or higher) degree of dominance as Medvedeva has had, completely revolutionizing the sport in process.Re:Radionova and Tuktamysheva ...
