South Korean National Championships, 05–07 January 2018

I'm pretty sure anyone who's of rank 7 or higher (which Yunkyung is) can participate in the competition to determine JGP spots so she's safe there, but I'm kind of worried about funding.:/ If she's not on the national team does that mean she loses her funding (if there even is any LOL)? It'll be a huge waste if this drives her away from the sport!! She has such a good air position and those spins are so good.:sad21:

It seems like she will lost her funding.
Be a national team is not only very proud things to say, but they also offered free rinks to use, free well-organized medical teams, and can get special training sessions by invited foreign coaches. Not to say getting a big financial support to go to overseas competitions like challenger series or sth. They even receive money monthly just for they're in the national team.
It would be huge loss for her, I think:sad21:

THIS IS AWFUL...... That's a huge blow and really can drive a young girl away from skating...It's so difficult to go from planning your finances around earning a certain amount and then losing that income source.....Is there really no exception to this? I know Soyoun was in a similar position last year by not appearing at nationals.

#37 Min seung Kim from Jr ladies group7 did very well with 3F-2T, 3Lz, 2A. Nice job! 49.95 and currently 1st.

Sadly, no exception.. Soyoun also had to train herself for a year.:sad21:
The irony is once you got into the team, you can get the nice medical cares and a good training environment, but otherwise if you miss it, then you got nothing and the things could be just getting worse.

I think that's why Eunsoo didn't(or couldn't?) give up the Ranking competition instead of withdraw it and getting rest, even her toe pick toe wasn't good at that time.

 Since she's technically still on the national team at the moment (and hopefully towards the official end of the season in March/April) I hope she can heal up well by then while she still has access to those resources and comes back strong to get on the team again. I'm pretty devastated already and no skating from the seniors has even been done lmao.

#43 Si won Lee from jr ladies group8 did lovely swan performance, very elegant and poised as always! And her jumps didn't betray her today.
3Lz(little stuck) 3F-2T(soooo beautiful!) 2A(little stuck)
51.89 for current 1st place

#44 Ji o Lee fell hard while jump and can't get up for a while, and had to stop the program. She seems to be really in pain. She tried to keep going the program, but finally she gave up to play and now got the emergency medical treatment. oh my.. hope she's fine.

thanks for clearing it up!! its a shame she wont get funding and wont be able to have the benefit of using facilites and all, hopefully she will have opportunities to prove herself and prove that she deserves to be in the team, and its a shame they can remove skaters so easily, there should be different groups like special team, A team etc. similar to Japan, and you get different funding and all, depending on your group instead of not getting anything at all but its KSU so cant expect much

also Hailey, thanks so much for your reports!!!

Maybe not, cuz KSU has a strict criteria to send to the international events even that is a junior. (I cannot say it's becuz KSU doesn't want to be humiliated :P)

Will there be a stream for ladies tomorrow?

Yes I think, refreshing this page http://m.sports.naver.com/general/gamecenter/etc/index.nhn?tab=cheer&gameId=20180106FIGURE1 when time is come.
But I wonder they will stream all ladies or only the last group of ladies here at the link, we will see tomorrow.
And if you are in abroad, you may have trouble to get to the page, and they will require you to download some excess programs to see it. We will also see this tomorrow.
