2018 US Championships Sr Men FS

This is easy. Nathan, Vincent, and Adam. Ross doesn't have the body of work but give him worlds and/or 4CC bc he deserves something for the skate of his life!! USFS does NOT at all need to send the top 3. It's not a trials, it's a cumulative experience.

I don't know how you replace anyone in the standings. Adam had his spot and blew it unfortunately. I really like Nathan's program, it's understated and nice. Some don't like that style, but I think it has a place next to Adam and Jason. I've seen much, much worse from the Russians. Nathan has a real shot at the Olympics. Excited. Still crushed about Jason and Adam though. Totally thought one of them was going to be on the podium.

I could actually see the committee selecting Chen, Zhou and Rippon. Miner has been so off the radar internationally and of the 4, his ISU personal best scores are the lowest, so he is the one I could see potentially being booted.

They did not stiff Polina 4 years ago, though. Miner is in the exact position as her, 2nd place with not much international recognition.

They didn't bump Polina, who had an even lesser body of work than both Nagasu and Wagner. I doubt they'll leave Miner off.

I suspect that someone's gonna get bumped.

I really don't think they will bump Vincent 2 years in a row. So Ross you are probably it.

Perfect solution! Bump Tara and Johnny and send Ashley and Adam but only under the condition that Ashley wears that new dress.

Thank god it's not trials.

I agree. Adam had no quad. No one should go to the Olympics without a quad.

Agreed. Adam and Jason are good picks for worlds because they tend to be more consistent (which obviously wasn't the case today) and that helps keep US spots for next year's worlds, but without a quad they have no chance at a medal at the olympics. I am not counting both of their very lacking quads.

Is it going to be announced at TODAY Show at 5am PST tomorrow, though it would be much faster to follow Jackie's twitter.

Omg what just has happened??!! I turned on the nbc sports app and Adam was popping jumps , so was Jason... omg...Nathan was amazing. I love how Nathan channeled to have a refined and clean (watered down) performance at the nationals! I have to catch up Ross and Vincent NOW!!

I think it’s been already said but this thread is too lit to keep up. Three words: body of work.

I predict that Ross is going to be bumped. The team is going to be Chen, Zhou, and Rippon.

I think da96103's point was that Olympic experience could be a valuable thing
If Zhao was to come back 4 years later to try and win it

He needs more experience period. His senior debut season was underwhelming to say the least. And yes, he tried his best here, but with that many URs he needs a loooot of work still.

He isn't making the podium in Pyeongchang either and I'm very skeptical that these guys going for 5 quad programs are going to last long in the sport. We can check back in 4 years and see.
