Yulia Lipnitskaya

the most common Юлия -> Юля, but when transliterated it looks the same (though it sounds different in russian)

Yay!!!! I’d never seen the Skate Canada Gala in high quality video before. The clips I had always watched were choppy. This program brings tears to my eyes but it is really good. I love how she grabs grabs the blade during the iSpin with both hands :jaw:

Also found some bonus footage from the Gala finals she’s in. I’d never seen any of this.

Not sure, if you believe in what Eteri says or not sure what to think about Julia's reaction?

What was Yulia’s reaction?

I’ve nothing against Eteri but I think she misses the mark on some things. There was a spark in Yulia’s yes at the 2014 WC. They opened a lot of doors for each other IMO.

Google translate:
...when Julia got the Sochi-2014 medal in hand, the first thing she asked: "Mom, Mom, did you want this medal? It's an Olympic medal! "Mom says:" Yes, "and I saw Yulia in the eyes as if something had been turned off," Tutberidze said.

Google translate:

I added to my post above. Meh...whatever Eteri...she never really acknowledges her role in things when they go bad. It’s always an issue with the student it should seem. To me...it’s mutual shared success and mutual shared failure. There was a spark in Yulia’s eyes at the WC IMO. That hug after the SP and her great performance in spite of a fall in the FS is obvious to me. She gave one of the most sincere bows after the free....she didn’t check out.

I’m not mad or anything but Eteri is far from faultless in my eyes. YMMV

Good to know, there is someone else in this forum with healthy approach towards Eteri, that is positive yet critical at the same time. It's so rare in this place. :rolleye:

There are Ilinykh, Lipnitskaya and Miroshkin. All three commentated competitions on Telesport this season. Since Russian channels have greatly reduced their coverage of the Olympics, Telesport probably managed to snatch again the rights to broadcast some of the competitions (like in the Grand Prix).

She posted one of those Instagram daily stories where she is hugging Elena. Someone who knows how needs to grab and post it here before it disappears.

:dbana:

Is it too late for her to kick off a Curling career ? It would be epic to see her and Elena on a team. :yahoo:
