By not sending Shoma out there, Japan literally threw away four points. They would have been one points away from third place.

Nail biter between Italy/US now. Italy got exactly what they needed, with a great skate from Rizzo and possibly help from Japan. Carolina can easily overtake a 2 point lead.

Well, the USA is now 2 points ahead of Italy. If the Shib Sibs get 2nd (Which they probably will) and Virtue/Moir 1st, and Carolina doesn't do better than 2nd, then mathematically yes.

I really, really wish they'd put the team event after the individuals so countries would actually put their top skaters in. It just feels predetermined who will win the way it is now.

I thought that we were watching the top skaters!

In theory only OAR may be higher if OAR will be first and Canada last both in Ladies and dance, but it absolutely impossible. Others can not be higher even in theory.

So Rippon would have won this competition had there been any sort of proper judging whatsoever.

Italy is unnecessarily close to the US, because of Chan and Kolyada being scored the way they were. Really poor showing by the judges.

The most likely outcome is still America Bronze, but it's actually quite possible Italy takes it.

I know.. It's gonna come down to Mirai ad Carolina's placements.

Adam did his job, no doubt. But I’m not quite raging just because I’ve seen multiple more special performances of that program. The UR has to be fake though.

I'm sorry, but that is not a 90 TES worthy skate. That is not a beats Kolyada and Rippon skate. If he leads and he probably will, you might as well just hand the medals to Canada on a platter.

And that's exactly what was done. As much as I love figure skating, I'm done with it now. He should NOT be in first place and the judges and presenters should be ashamed of themselves for this BS.

Canada has mathematically won, even if Russia is first. It would take Tessa&Scott to be like last combined with Kaetlyn too - and then B/S to be 1st or something like that. Congrats Canada Patrick Chan has his Gold medal !
