There is something about Patrick Chan’s eyes. They are bizarre but mesmerizing to me. He is a very sexy dude, in a weird way.

Magical Free Skate for Virtue / Moir. I don’t get ice dance, but that was captivating.

Medvedeva/Zagitova showdown will be terrific.

Men’s event is a crap shoot after how badly they skated during the team event.

Should be a great olympics for figure skating! It does annoy me that I have to watch the nbc coverage unlike Sochi where I could just watch it live during the day.

Now they've given me two wonderful versions of this program to watch over and over again. Simply spectacular. I do think they can do even better though. They did better in some moments in their practices but this was still so so good. Made me tear up all over again. Somehow they make Moulin Rouge feel fresh which in FS is a real accomplishment.

I confess, I really wanted Italy to win that bronze, because I wanted an Olympic's fairy tale scenario. Also I like Marchei/Hotarek and want them all medals in the world.
But I love Mirai so much. Since Vancouver. But those 8 years was such a heartbreak. Neverending fight with puberty and injuries. 4 years ago she was stripped off of her rightfully earned olympic spot. But she never gave up, she continued to fight and learned the most difficult element in ladies' skating at her twenties. And she made comeback, she's at the Olymics once again. And at the moment when everyone has written her off and predict her to finish last, Mirai went and delivered perfomance of her lifetime! In the end of the day it's her, and no one else, who secured an olympic medal for team USA.
Maybe, you'll never read this story in the children books, but for me it's the most beautiful fairy tale ever.

Nice skate from V/M. But I'm just gonna say it. For all the talk of loss of creativity in singles skating, man, talk about ice dance. Every movement is so *predictable*. It's so unambiguous, so over-determined. No place for anything that isn’t expected. I guess that’s the price we pay for this supposedly more “objective” scoring system.

Really ? In which way ? That is the first time I'm hearing this, but it's actually interesting if you (and perhaps others) have this opinion !

You know, I came into this Olympic season pretty cynical about how things in the world of skating were shaking out. I wasn't (and I'm still not) the biggest fan of the Russian ladies' skating and their enormous scores, but I've really grown to love all their personalities and I appreciate the grit and heart that everyone is skating with tonight.
