That American that no one wants to think about...Grrrr - I'll never figure out this livestream practice thing. I think it was a warm up and not even a practice, so in the warm up they don't even play their music. I saw him prob for 2 minutes max. Then he did his bow. At first I just thought it was a little boy in a velvet cat suit
then I realized it was Shomajesty! They were on the main rink.

Don't worry, that's just skating amnesia! We all get it, especially before/during/after an event that is a pressure event. Shoma looked good and rather relaxed. What does he have to lose? He goes out, he gives 120% like he always does, let the chips fall where they may. Anything can happen. I saw Jackie Wong's predictions. I love Jackie but don't feel too worried. He's rolling the dice like all the rest of us! I just feel lucky to able to see all this! If the event is even 50% as great as the pairs, it will not disappoint!
That may end up being the case, but I believe Yuzuru's intention was to not be in the shot of the cameramen's.
Reading Japanese media headlines, they are saying Shoma was feeling happy that the media attention is on Yuzuru now and he can "hide in the shadow" while preparing for the upcoming competition. This is also the first time this season they go head-to-head, so Shoma is looking forward to that as well!

I have no idea what they're saying other than a few phrases here and there (thanks to watching anime many years ago). Since there's so much more skating coverage in Japan, I want to learn Japanese.
