2018 Olympic Figure Skating Mens SP

I do feel bad for Chen but he already won a bronze medal. I am sure he'll come back strong at worlds.

He was injured in 2015 and headcased in 2016. That being said, you're correct. The top 2 are verrrrry close to one another.

How does Fernandez look "more solid"?

Fewer hard falls in practice. More energetic. ( he isn’t coming back from injury) But, practices don’t mean everything. Shoma was terrible in practice all week and did great.

I don’t care who wins. I like Yuzuru and Javier equally for different reasons. I just notice that the leader after the short often struggles in the long. I hope they all do well 😀👍

Kinda sad for Julian though. I wanted him to make the free.

I overslept his skate (not difficult considering that it took place just after 2AM here) :slink: but yeah little bit sad about him as he's among my few favourite skaters from early groups. One could hope almost till the end considering that there was Kolyada waiting after all just in case of ultimate bombing that he's capable of. But than this is great feat just to make it there and give admirable skate while on top of it beating 5 other men for a man who represents ... Malaysia, country that is right on equator, and by someone who's not USA born imported skater with foreign passport.

I feel for Chen even though he's not my favourite, too much hype & buzz did him in. 17th place and 20+ behind podium area ... ouch. I am genuinely gutted for Kolyada on the other hand.

Proud of Javier, he put himself in contention for Olympic medal now  The most enjoyable skate of today as well for me. Jin also slayed  I'd be delighted with whoever of these two with a medal but my ultimate wish is OGM for Fernandez.

Positively shocked by Brezina  Who would have thought? But I am going to be nervous before LP as this is Brezina after all.

Normal lah. At least for Julian no expectations. Many people dont even know Winter OG is going on.

Lol, they just never fail do they? When our badminton team did not get OGM they be like "Athletes crumbled/failed". On one hand tho, i'm grateful that we all are happy for Juju as a country. The same cannot be said for Michael. Poor boy, everyone's bashing him according to what a Filipino friend is telling me.

WOAH !!! YUZUOAH !!! :eekn:

Five skaters near and over 100, MAMMA MIA !!! So thrilled :handw:

Chen and Kolyada have confirmed the bad moment. I wasn't expecting to see, from Nathan, an SP as bad as the one of the team event.

Between the last skaters qualified, i'm so happy for Rizzo and impressed by Cha, but sad for not see Ten tomorrow.

The most happy guy for today's result is definitely Orser

What the... why are people bashing? He's an Olympian and he gave it his best. That's all you can ask for. Those people bashing him, can they even skate? Because figure skating is one of the most difficult things any human being can do and he's at he Olympics.

Some of the replies be like
"LOL, you can go back to doing vlogs, you're a failure" 😡😡😡😡😡
Like don't they know he received next to nothing of any support from his country? He had to use socmed to finance his trainings. I feel like grabbing those trolls by heir throats

If it plays out like pairs we'll have

1. Boyang Jin
2. Yuzuru Hanyu
3. Shoma Uno

No, I hope Javier can make the podium and The Man from La Mancha won't turn into... The Candyman from La Mancha!

I m so happy I woke up in the middle of night and watched the last 3 groups:hap10:, amazing sp in general, I m scared for tonight! I d love Hanyu Javier and Shuma on the podium in any order! But Hanyu can make history with back to back gold :D

For the above placement to happen:

1. Boyang skates clean and gets 86 PCS
2. Yuzuru falls twice
3. Shoma falls once
4. Javier falls once and wobbles once.

Of the above, the most likely to happen is 1 and either 3 or 4 but not both 3 or 4.
I think it would be

1. Yuzuru
2. Shoma or Javier
3. Boyang

Guys...

Boyang isn't gonna win from 4th just because S\M did

Woke up just in time for the final group (without even planning to).

Lovely performances from the top 4, heartbreaking that one of them has to miss out on a medal tomorrow. Sad for Nathan, all the pressure really got to him. I also think that if he wasn't already injured going into the short, he probably is now - that Lz landing looked... crunchy? Even in real-time, never mind on slow-mo. The instant I saw him land I thought "well, there go the rest of the jumps". Poor kid.
