This is the way of skating though sob sob. I like Nathan but it is jump jump screw the artistry.

I see it as more of a personal statement that he could skate well at the Olympics. Mentally he needed a good skate more than a pretty one. It was still better than the lower ranked stylings.

Nathan left so much room for other skaters in the short, I wonder if he could medal. The final 2 groups should have a meltdown in epic proportions for him to hve a chance

C'mon, people yell just as much about Nathan (if not more bc of the Hanyu-factor). It's just he's mostly alone in the overscored Americans club while the Russians have an annual waitlist for theirs.

Clean 3A to open. Alright 3A+1Lo+2S combination (3A could be marked <). Beautiful 3F with fantastic landing and an elegant multidirectional camel spin. Lovely intension and positions through the footwork right into a well-centered flying spin. Eeked out the 3T on the 3Lz+3T combo. Solid second 3Lz and 3Lo. Good series of 2A+2T and 2A. And a glorious footwork sequence that fits the drama, phrasing, and softness of the music. And a fantastic combo spin to end.

Misha is a gorgeous skater; elegance will be his legacy. His movements are always full, well-minded, and well-placed. He shows off what is beautiful about skating without the quad. It's about the breath of the choreography - the lines, the stretch, and the space. A wonderful moment of serenity and intention.

The thing is though, He probably could do the program the way he did because he didn't have pressure anymore. I don't know if he could if he was in the final group.

Please, remember Carolina Kostner and her first two Olympics.

So it will be fascinating to see him next quad.

Wow... i loved Nathan and then Tara goes and says „now we are waiting for the Man in the final group to make some mistakes”... What skater would Hope for others to fall!??? I guess thats the kind of „champion” she is ;/ hoping someone else will do worse than her flutz :/
