2018 Olympic Figure Skating Ladies FS

Maybe Karen needs to hop on the Edea bandwagon like everyone else.

I'm pretty sure I remember her talking about how Edea was the answer to her boot problem prayers last year. But I just looked it up and now she is currently using Avanta skates so maybe she already tried Edea and didn't like them?

Well this is rude...one of our politicians has decided to resign and it's breaking into the Olympics coverage!

I mean I'm watching the stream, but c'mon...stick this on some other channel.

(Plus he's not even resigning resigning, just stepping down as a leader - bugger off dude.)

Okay, so I looked at the pic of Karen's boots and see... boots. Is there something obviously wrong that I'm missing? I'm the farthest thing from a boot expert that exists so someone help me out here.

I sort of agree with you. But, unlike us, journalists for an international stage are, or should be, trained to keep their commentary unbiased and professional.

I don't like reading the extremes some people go to bash either, but it's still unlikely that the athletes would ever come to GS ever. The NBC broadcast is there for everyone to watch, and it also shaded the viewpoint of the casual viewer. Their biased, disrespectful commentary normalizes the viewers' own not-so-savoury behaviour towards athletes.

I did sort of fall out of following skating because the forums get so catty at times. It was years ago now, but a friend (a casual fan) and I went to freakin' Stars on Ice and this girl in front of us was snottily critiquing each performance and would turn around and give us the stink eye every time we cheered encouragingly if one of the skaters stumbled. It was one of the televised locations so the skaters came out later for reshoots. She said "I don't know why people have to cheer so loud for bad skating". My friend is normally very confident and she later told me that girl made her uncomfortable and made her not want to go to skating events anymore. It's like you get so used to being catty you can't just sit back and ENJOY a performance.

Some nitpicking is fun but some fans can get scary. I think it was the Mao vs Yuna bots that first scared me away. LOL

Sometimes a person just have to have some chocolate in their underwear. Don't judge.
I misinterpreted your post. Remembered Lambiel smiling and saying Swiss chocolate was part of the secret to his wonderful spins. Saw your post and thought is Lambiel doing an underwear ad? Where can I watch it? I obviously need to eat now. :o:

The bottom of her boots are becoming undone/falling apart.

I do think some of the cattiness in the forums can be uncalled for us well but we do have more freedom to be more openly critical. I don't mind some tongue-in-cheek ribbing and I will gladly mock ugly costumes.

This is true. We aren't on a payroll. I am just the only person I know that is a skating fanatic so it is kind of isolating. I have no one to talk to about skating. It's so nice to just let loose and have fun talking to people I don't know about something we all love!
