Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

lol, this is the greatest thing ever...

Edit.

Actor/ Director John Cameron Mitchel published about Yuzuru in his instragran account, calling him "The Baryshnykov on ice "

Edit2.
If you read the comments on the post Jim Parson (Sheldon Cooper The Big Bang Theory) comments about Yuzuru in the post :)

OMG! I'm obsessed with JCM!!! This is so random and so amazing! :luv17:

Oh, husband just pointed out that ISU changed it's twitter account header photo to Yuzuru's photo after the short program. That's cool, keep up the good work ISU :agree:

Yuzuru and his never ending crazy dreams

I wouldn't call it crazy. It's well-thought. Mix of Japanese, North American, Western European and Russian coaching schools specificity would with no doubt create top skaters. Just imagine yourself :luv17:

Same thought. At the same time they can prepare some badass ice shows and go crazy together :yahoo:

* I can see the group choreo of a Lady Marmalade-parody in my mind already

IMHO Yuzu's ideal school would be great. But its going to be difficult to pull off.
Like B. Orser when he was asked about coaching Yuzu and Javi, he said something like when two superstars are together it could be difficult since they have strong ideas.
Its just a plus that Yuzu and Javi are both kind their training worked. :agree:

If I remember correctly Lambiel taught and inspired him to do spins on an ice show.
While Plushenko is his forever icon.
And Weir I think for showanship and creativity. He made some of Yuzu's costumes.
He probably found elements that these three have which he wants to learn more and maybe to coach too the best skaters possible.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=PcpUCeNaL8c From today's memorial broadcast from News Every.
This is a re-cap of Yuzu's relationship with the 3.11 disaster and his thoughts toward his performance of Notte Stelata at the Olympics.
Talking to those still living in temporary housing he said "I felt powerless even after winning, coming here and visiting has saved me. If people can feel energized by my skating results, then that's the best thing I can do for everyone."
The smiles of those from the disaster area from the Sochi medal became the power for Hanyu to move forward.

Well, Yuzuru invited Lambiel to see his programs at training when he was in Canada before this season. I think he wanted his opinion on improvements in regards to (artistic) expression etc. Also, when Yuzuru spoke about Lambiel in an interview (I think it was Shizuka Arakawa's 'Friends on Ice' talk), he mentioned something about choreography (it was without English subtitles, so that's all I could understand). I think Yuzuru values/appreciates and respects Stephane for more than just spins.

Plus, this is so off-topic, but I am still sometimes amazed at people thinking that spins are all there is to Lambiel and that nothing else can possibly be learned from him. This is not aimed directly at you, as I don't know if you really think that way, but, yeah, there really seem to be skating fans who think that, so.....

Back to the topic, it would be a great skating school/academy with all of them as coaches indeed :). Not really possible, since Lambiel has his own skating school in Switzerland, as does Plushenko in Russia, and Weir seems to have chosen a different kind of career for himself, but inviting them as guest teachers could be a wonderful possibility.
