Kaetlyn Osmond

The victory celebrations continue for our Comeback Kid Kaetlyn Osmond!

Inside Sports with Reid Wilkins - I had this cued to the start of the interview at 20:33 for you all. So sweet to hear Kaetlyn's voice... and Kaetlyn defends quite articulately the figure skating team event in the interview. That alone is worth a listen, and should be copy-pasted to wherever the debates are about the Olympic Team event.

CTV Edmonton of the home rink celebration!

:-)

Thanks for sharing! Nice to also hear about her interpretation and connection to her long program. Glad she showed the doubters a program she enjoys skating, believes in, and continually improves upon with Jeff Buttle to produce as she mentions the best long program she's done in years.

There's still Worlds to go, but I'm already mourning not seeing Edith anymore. Resurrecting that routine for the Olympic season was the right call, as it was her best-ever short program (particularly as "Black Swan/Swan Lake" grew into Kaetlyn's best long program), but obviously that's about the limit before you stagnate artistically. I'm sure the prospect of coming up with a replacement will be daunting.

Not that she needs it this season, but has Kaetlyn tried training a 3A before or is thinking of adding one?

I've never heard anything about her trying it. I expect that, as with virtually all skaters, she thinks it's just not worth it relative to the amount of effort. The 3A gives you bragging rights, but it's not otherwise so valuable as to justify the time it would take to do it well for most. I mean, Mao Asada did three of them in Vancouver and only finished marginally ahead of Joannie Rochette.

Who's the best? Who the best pilot?

KAE-TLYN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2018 world champ!

Yank for osmond!

So, so proud of Katelyn for her perseverance through injury! Love her speed, presence on the ice and big jumps when I saw her live at Skate Canada 2016. She is on the podium in every event this season and is closing out the quad as the World Champion! When was the last time we had a Canadian World Champion in ladies?

Congrats to Katelyn and of course Ravi for helping her come back better than ever! OsmondforGold shall we throw a party ;)?

Congratulations to Kaetlyn! She skated with the confidence of a Champion and I am so happy for her that she
was rewarded with the Gold Medal, well deserved! The skating gods got it right today. This has been a great season for her.

Bust out with the celebration!! Great job Kaetlyn on grabbing your first World Title! ;)

Well, I sometimes dreamed of this happening, but I never thought it actually would.

After she skated so well in the free skate I was pleased at even getting bronze and being the first Canadian since Magnussen to win multiple Worlds medals. And then she equaled Magnussen in another way.

Congratulations to Osmond for the World Championship, well deserved and she managed to deliver when others could not

Yeah, I had to Google what year Magnussen won...1973. She's the first Canadian to win worlds in ladies' singles in 45 years.

Way to go, Kaetlyn!! Congratulations on getting the GOLD!! :yahoo: :points:

45 years since a Canadian lady won Worlds, the last being Karen Magnussen in Bratislava. Cherish your moment!

Your Black Swan interpretation is wonderfully bold and edgy and I've loved seeing it develop over the season.

:thank:
