Some thoughts:

- What a mess

- Tomono single-handedly saved this entire event for me both sp and lp. What an engaging kid!

- Yay for team uncle! Bychenko in 4th wow

- Boyang devastates me. What was going onn!?!?! Never thought I'd see him fall on the 4Lz, and the rest is history

- Shoma fought tooth and nail for Japan's three spots both terrifies and impresses me. Didn't think his PCS in the short was warranted, but he gave it his best

- Glad Nathan got his mental mojo back and landing jumps after the Olys, champions have to keep this strength. He deserves the win, but under no circumstances he deserves the GOEs on some of that landings and the PCS is just too ridiculous to comment already. Score outrageous, win well-deserved

Why did Boyang get 9 deductions when he "only" fell 5 times? And why Shoma got -4 when he fell 3 times?

The deductions increase with every fall.

Just realized this is the championship for the alternative alternates. Max and Kazuki answering their call of duty and even going above and beyond by saving their countries 3 spots

Wow, you are right, Max did help. Nathan 1 + Max 11 = 12 (less 13), Vincent 14-1 (Max) would not help.
Tomono 5 + Shoma 2 = 7, Keiji's 13-1 (Tomono) would not help.

Out of the top men, Shoma had the busiest season of them all. He really needs rest but already is booked for shows next week. :giveup:

Yes I hope he rests first and foremost, I am just thinking about the possibility. And I really need him to pull out of SOI next week it is just so close.

When will I ever learn never to trust Nathan's planned layout? He said five quads, but when I saw that second flip I knew he was going for it again. It's the same as the start of the season when he said he wasn't focus on a quad loop, and then landed on a day later. He's the master poker player.

I assume he didn’t know anyone’s scores except maybe Vincent as he got on the ice, so he did 6 quads to play it safe (only Nathan lol)

The deductions become cumulative after two falls. So for the third and fourth you get -2 for each fall, and I think -3 for the fifth.

Otherwise known as the CoC14 rule.

The rules for falls changed. For the first two it's just 1 point. The 2nd is 2. After that it's 3 points.

Very impressed by Kazuki, and loved Misha's performance.

Matteo decide itself this morning to try the quad anyway, but is not ready. The hype over him can grow a lot next year.

What a crazy Men's competition.

A big Congratulations to Nathan for winning the Gold Medal. He skated two terrific programs, well deserved!

Shoma you are my Ice Warrior, you fought through this competition with an ankle injury and showed true sportsmanship by
making the decision not to withdraw and to help Team Japan secure three spots. Winning the Silver Medal is the Cherry on Top.

Congrats to Mikhail for winning the Bronze. Love his Elvis program and his personality on the ice. He was so happy at
the Medal Ceremony.

Shout out to Kazuki who stepped up to help get those three spots for Japan, such a talented young man.

Two seasons ago (or was it one seaosn ago?) the rules changed. First tow falls are (-1). Then another two (-2) and another two (-3). SO we have 2x(-1) + 2x(-2) + 1x(-3)= (-2) + (-4) +(-3) = (-9).

Well, the surname Silver king didn't come from the fact he was second at Worlds last year, but because he was second all the time this year.
