I'm a liar who said she'd stop watching, but wow. I can't believe the only singles competitions we've had all season were the Olympics, Worlds ladies, JGP, and Junior Worlds.

If Chen went just a bit cleaner today and got +1 GOE on his two quads with bobbles, he would've narrowly beaten Hanyu's WR FS score. That's staggering (and I'll put out the prediction that next season, he will have the WR FS).

Next season, there will be one less jump and 30 sec reduction in music. So less total points

yikes the last group was just a mess. i'm so sad and hollow. i just wanted boyang on the podium, but.... does anyone know why boyang performed like that? he wasn't at practise either. is he sick, boot problems or anything? and shoma, king of falling 3 times and still winning silver. i'm happy nathan saved everyone. at least there's that.


i hope boyang will go to beijing 2022, and win something there ;-;

Well thank goodness he made those mistakes then because I did not need him to get a WR for this. He's my baby but 9.32 in SS

Max really did save the day in the end. I'm glad he had a solid performance because we would've been back to two spots without him.

I'm agreeing with you big time .... But let's not forget, if Nathan had come in 3rd, we'd have 2 spots next year.

Just sayin'. Nathan also really did save the day. That pressure on him was humongous.

I like Nathan's answer: "I learned from the Olympics."

This men's event will go down in historybooks. And not in a good way
First two groups - splat. Third group - whoa, maybe this competition is saved! Fourth group - even more splat. Now it was just a competition of who fell the least. Last man standing.

I thought it couldn't be worse than Sochi, but in retrospect (and in comparison with Milan) it wasn't even half that bad.

First two groups were solid! There were no splats, just less than perfect skates and also some great ones! It's just the last group that was sheet.

Nathan didn't need to jump so many quads, he could save some for dinner later on.

I think he wanted on the record book of hopefully landing 6 quads in an event at world, because next year, the men only have 7 jump pass and it will make it very hard to do 6 quads then...

Yeah, Hanyu's WR for LP is 220ish

It's not Shoma's fault when others splat. Yes, this was a bad skate from Shoma. But you know what he did? He kept his very hard layout when he knew he wouldn't be able to do it. He fell on the opening Quads. And he fell again. And then? He hit his quad and his 3A sequence and his last 3-3 combi. Fact is, he didn't fall apart after the worst start he had, well perhaps in years. And that made the difference. He is so strong, I only can look on in awe.

I count 14 falls....in one group!

Perhaps I'm just nitpicking. But many didn't skate to their own best in the first two groups though, and there were quite a few falls aswell. Or maybe I'm shellshocked and my perspective already tilted!

Because the TES was higher. Yuzuru had 123, Nathan 128. Obviously Nathan didn't have the same PCS as Yuzuru, and got scored quite generously.

I think it says a lot Nathan had two quads more but only 5 points more in TES.
