I knew we could depend on you deedee! I remember just out of curiosity looking up how many people Saitama holds (more than 30,000). And I would have to think that for figure skating a huge percentage of that audience is female. Oh dear - recipe for disaster!

 Thanks. This only happens when I attend figure skating competitions. Never baseball, never rugby for women in my country. Thus making a plan is important; some strategy you know. ;)
One of the reasons is as you said female is the majority of audience in this sport. Another is because we all know shortage in numbers of toilets is the problem, we get too anxious about it and many of middle aged to old women try to go there more often than usual/in actual need of whenever there's a chance as a precaution... I tend to do so myself tbh. :o: Makes lines for toilets even worse.

My secret recipe to avoid a disaster: When attending, I go straight to our seats first, check the view to the rink, either complain or get excited about it. Then I leave my hubby alone there, go and look for the nearest restrooms (plan A) and count how many, then look for the second nearest restrooms (bigger sometimes) and count (plan B). Back to my seat and make my plan, carefully weighing its distance, capacity and my own running ability/speed. When the fifth skater finishes his/her performance, I slowly move to an empty seat which the closest to the door/gate and watch the last skater of the group. Once the performance is over I simply DASH to the targeted restrooms. If I'd stay until the score comes up
I may get in a big trouble. My two cents: No high heels. Never imagine how desperate/terrible you may look to those whom you're passing by. Don't forget to remind your husband/friend to write down the score and interim placement of the last skater. ;)

So Arriba what about Worlds in Japan. I am seriously thinking about attending.

Thanks deedee! I will have to really think about going to Worlds. I don't mind waiting a bit but not Zamboni time. :laugh2: Loved your Depends comment!

OMG Please PLEASE come over to Japan, my sister! I don't decided yet if my husband and I will be going to the Worlds, since Japan has Rugby World Cup scheduled next year, then Tokyo Olympic Games after. However, it'll be really great if we could meet up somewhere during the event.:love::love:

https://www.alvark-tokyo.jp/news/42796.html Here we go! The ladder is actually a good idea. Or a couple people can lift him up so he can dunk! And hopefully the games don't involve any tricycle riding!
Oh the webpage spelt shoma's name wrong...
On the other hand, a trampoline should be good if they want shoma to dunk (I saw this is used in NBA by team's lucky character). Tricycle riding...well...just provide a proper size and shoma could manage for sure

And he already has trampoline experience, so that would be great. Maybe he can say "piyo, piyo" when he jumps on the trampoline. Somehow, mighty thighs and tricycles don't do too well together.

OMG a commercial came on playing Winter in the background, so naturally my mind is going to go to Shomita. So here I am thinking about him skating and then suddenly the music changes to a rock version and my brain just didn't know what to do with that . So now I'm curious what a rock program by Shoma would look like :scratch3:.

Throwback Sunday! Since it's the off- season, so why not.
Posted by Risport skates on April 2015 after he won World Juniors, team Japan playing rock-paper-scissors (Marin is on the right, is that Kairi behind the hands?). Cute old face:

I saw someone made a video where Shoma was skating legends and the music was changed to a rock song. It actually fit. Cant find it now.

It was Shoma, Marin, Sena, Koshiro, Yuto Kishina, Yuna Aoki and Momoka Sumi and.... Itsuki! ;)
the last one where they are on the Romeo and Juliet balcony is pretty cool.
Daphenaxa, your keiji skills are amazing as always! Haha, funny that I mistook itsuki for kaori. I thought it was a guy, but the eyes fooled me. Thanks for the correction! [emoji6]

I've never seen so many photos of this trip, there is also Fluffy-sensei there! It's so LOL worthy, I mean the kids are certainly interested in the sport, but some pictures...they look like a group of schoolkids, forced to visit a local business/factory to watch how 'real life' works. And then the sightseeing, Shoma certainly didn't enjoy that, haha!

Today I was watching Asahi TV, and just before today's Ice Show was broadcast Figurepedia was on, showing Shoma's skate at the GPF this season. After his scores came up and he went back stage, Coach Yamada gave him three swats and a handshake.
 Shoma's face was so typical Shoma. It made me nearly choke on my drink.

I mean, it's a factory for skating boots. [emoji854] How fun would that be for anyone? [emoji25] Especially kids who use them and look at them daily? Reminds me of the time were went on a field trip to a crayon factory. That was probably more interesting though. Lots of colors.

Any screenshot? He has so many faces, I'm not sure which one is typical Shoma anymore. [emoji28]

The slight smile, like, someone is doing something to me...it can't be helped.

I would argue that especially for these kids, a factory for figure skating boots is more interesting than for the average kid from the neighbourhood who doesn't care. :p

We went to Gerolsteiner (mineral water firm) in elementary school. It was pretty cool, they had all sorts of lemonades/sodas to try that weren't officially being sold. But then we had to write a report about the visit, which slightly dampened the fun! :)

MK, samples of flavoured water? Sounds like a fun field trip!

I've only ever seen this angle of that moment, never his face. Probably looks like some of his expressions during interviews. [emoji16]

We need Itsuki and his interesting Shoma facts tidbits to fill up the off season drought!
