Hmm, yes, but that doesn't mean they didn't make mistakes with Zhenya. Personally I think they did.
her season was a mess tbh. and why did she competed at the nhk? a mystery...

Great for you. I on the other hand think Zhenya is a good deal better than Alina at this point in time when it comes to PCS but hey, enjoy your Alina.
On the other hand, your sentence is absolutely hilarious because it is actually a brilliant argument for Zhenya leaving Eteri so thanks for that.
3. Nobody knows what the future brings...but i would consider for example orser a upgrade.

Sure that's life then but at the same time, and considering other factors, if Zhenya wants to leave, I'd hardly call it unreasonable. In fact, it'd be understandable. Again, I think the practicality of this is really iffy but I also don't understand the huge issue of thinking this way.
Zhenya isn't wedded to Eteri Tutberidze. It's Zhenya's FF, not Eteri's. And heck, nobody is even saying anything terrible about Eteri. Zhenya can respect Eteri, be grateful and still want to go. People evolve, things happen and change. So again, I fail to see what is so scandalous in the idea that she might want to change coaches. Disagree with it, sure but it's hardly the Armageddon some are making it out to be. Every single skater on this board has had people discuss stuff like this, sooner or later.
She was second? Come on, is that so low for some of you?
It is interesting to read this thread the past few days and see team yolo (she stays with Eteri) and team yaga(she goes somewhere else) taking shape. I think she is staying with Eteri...unless Viktor from Yuri on Ice is taking students...
Maybe this was due to injury or inability to do some of the same jumps. But she has to be wondering if the program should have been different and if she will continue to get lesser programs if she sticks with Eteri.
Yes, actually that is low. And that's low for Zhenya too. I am sorry to say but that is the competitive mindset. Zhenya didn't go through all that agony thinking you know what, silver is great! No, she went through that because a gold Olympic medal is a gold Olympic medal. Is silver great? Yes, absolutely but athletes don't work that way, not at her level, especially not while she is still competing and while it is all fresh.
A two time World, European, GPF champion who skated cleanly at the Olympics had every reason to expect the best programs and in case she was clean, yes, expecting a victory was reasonable.
Let me be clear, as talk went all over the place, I don't think overall that Eteri's team did her any wrong. They may have made a mistake by playing it too safe last season (so 2016/17, pre-Olympics season) and then it all spiraled out of control this season but I can think both that, and have an overall positive opinion.
I think she respects Eteri, and is very grateful, as she's said but you can feel both that and at the same time feel like it's a moment for change perhaps. She can look at what happened, look at who's coming and perhaps think that hey, leaving is the best solution. It may be risky but she may feel it's the best for her future.
I am not saying she is thinking this, I am saying this is a reasonable opinion to have. Yes, it differs from yours but I don't think it's so wild to be called outrageous or whatever. I'm also not saying she's leaving, as I've stated way at the start this is so problematic even if she wanted to but in a discussion, it's a POV that is reasonable, even if one doesn't agree with it.
Many people seems to prefer Orser, but to be honest, his temporary ladies students absolutely do not convince me. Daleman? Tursynbayeva? So below Zhenya's level. And even his former students never reached the level on which Zhenya is now. i can't help myslef but I feel it only as completely irrational conviction:
"we have to get Zhenya out of Russia."
"Because?"
"Because!"![]()
As far as I know, originally Zhenya's program was intended to be completely backloaded too. But due to her injury there was concern if she can withstand such load. So, this is where her injury really influenced that result. And again, 156 points is huge result, who could arrange for her something which would gain her more (incl. to train her for it)? I am absolutely skeptical about that. And you can't blame Eteris team that Alina just received even more (and nobody of the students of coaches who are proposed here ever got to that level).

I believe Daniil was primarily responsible for Alina’s programs.

I don’t think Eteri ever expected her program to beat out Zhenya’s. Look at her face when Alina’s short program scores are announced. She is in shock.
There is a psych study where silver medalists are way less happy than bronze medalists. Silver implies you “lost.” Whereas bronze medalists are happy to be on the podium. As competitive as Evgenia, silver must be devastating to her. Even if it was a very high score, it wasn’t enough to win.
Well, i am sure her jumps would be better if she were completely healthy.Well, honest answer from you, I respect that. And I'm completely aware she desired for gold, thats true. But still, I don't see any possibility she would go even better than she did under any other coach (even if she would be completely healthy), thats my position against such proposals.

Well, they never actually said that they changed her FS because of the injury. It was due to the fact that backloading wasn't working for her.
Zhenya does not make decisions what to skate, which dress to wear and etc. Do not believe every interview.Do you have a source? Because she had never said something like that.
I read a comment that the change to Anna Karenina was because she wanted to tell a story on the ice...

Her wishes means nothing because the coach is everything.
