Throwback: Skate America 2016 after the men's victory ceremony. Shoma being called by so many fans that he didn't know where to turn, so he decides to go around again, to many happy cheers.

Arriba, weren't you there?

Awww, now I have to relive my happiest experience – the first time I ever met Shomita! (Note: You’ve heard all this already – so feel free to skip, but it makes me happy just to think about it!). It was the first time he went to a competition early, in order to cope with his jet lag better. He came to Chicago about 5 days early for Sk Amer 2016. I was the only one at the local rink watching him practice, and I was just about paralyzed, I was so excited! It was the first time I had ever seen him up that close! He was practicing his spins so close to me I could have practically reached out and touched him. After he finished, I summoned up all my courage and asked if I could please take his picture. That was in the days when Itsuki did his best to stay out of the photos! So, he turned in such a way that he was not visible, but that’s him next to Sho.

What I love about that video clip that you posted
Latremu, you can see how super happy he is after winning the gold medal. Those were REAL Sho smiles – not just “Oh I’d better smile now for the camera” smiles. I was so lucky that the first section he came to was the section where I was sitting. He was smiling the entire time and signing autographs, having his picture taken, etc.
https://twitter.com/Arriba627FS/status/790401953692090368 He didn’t seem to mind one bit that everyone was speaking to him in English, and I’m sure he had no clue what was going on. He could tell he was surrounded by friendly fans who appreciated and loved him. :luv17: It was probably at this particular point that I realized how much I loved his nose!!!!!
https://twitter.com/Arriba627FS/status/790401804760743936 Ah yes, the noodley tango hair, the nose, and the (ever-present) chewed up lips!!!!! After that, he started skating around, and several people asked him to pose with his medal. You can see him holding that bag with the polka dots that was in the video clip. So many people were yelling “Shoma kun! Shoma kun!” trying to get him to skate over by them, but time was running out because they (probably) had to go to their post-event press conference.

At that point, Adam left the ice, but Jason and Shoma continued to sign autographs, talk with people (there were LOTS of Japanese fans there), and interact with the audience. Finally, Kori Ade (Jason’s coach at the time) got on the intercom and started calling Shoma and Jason. Sho left the ice, but they still couldn’t pry Jason away from his fans. Over the intercom, Kori finally yelled “Jason Brown, this is your coach! You are grounded!” (grounded=punished, for those who don’t use that expression) Everyone laughed

(including Shoma
https://twitter.com/tigerlily4lo/status/790314787032805376 and the entire remaining audience!) and finally Jason left the ice.
And the icing on the cake, the following day he did “See You Again” at the gala and did that amazing cantilever that we all freaked out over (including you,
Dr. Hronop)!
https://youtu.be/btYi6Mm2aRQ?t=236 Thank you for letting me share these memories. Wow, happy days! And best of all – he is for real. He is so cute (oops sorry! :shame: I forget it's supposed to be kakkoii instead of kawaii) and so kind!
