We have been feeding foxes all summer, a family of three, mom and two babies almost big enough to be on their own. Every morning and evening one of us walks down to the barn (visible from the house) and deliberately leaves two small piles of dry cat food, in different places, not far apart, then wait. When the beauties appear, dogs (securely behind fencing) sound the alarm kicking up a great fuss and we all rush to see them.. They are gorgeous!!! :luv17: They have grown bold now calmly eat their treats in full view despite the attention. At first they would peek at us from the undergrowth, wait til we left the area, then come out to eat after we had gone... tried to take pictures but they won't come out with my brother-in-law's tripod set up there ...
Now I'm curious as to who the skater in the second confession is....

I’ve been spamming GS lately. I’ve had a couple non life threatening but fairly serious medical issues the last few weeks. Between my bed and couch and the doctors and specialists I’ve been pretty idle with little to do besides surf the net and watch movies. I’ll be fine so there is no major concern but I’ve just been so bored!

I watched some youtube videos on how to use a saw, bought some sturdy adjustable table legs and got the table-top wood from a hardware store nearby. They cut it to size and delivered it to my door. This meant I only had to sand, varnish and drill it all together. I used the off-cuts from the table top to make some shelves for my art supplies. Weird memory: I once was listening to Fun Home with a neighbor who I thought was a homophobe, so I ended up explaining the plot without mentioning homosexuality. Then she ended up coming out to me a few weeks ago.

So jealous!!! I LOVE foxes!!!
I watch Springwatch (and it's sister programmes) every year, and go all gooey every time they feature foxes. Especially baby ones. They are SOOOO cute!!!

ANYWAY, time for a couple of skating related confessions.
A week or so ago, I saw a post on my news feed from a skater who I had not come across before (it appeared on my news feed because somebody I am connected with was mentioned in the comment). And it turned out that she lives about 50 miles from me.
So, I read through the conversation. There was one point where the skater, her Dad and one of her Dad's friends were having a bit of banter, slagging each other off. And I couldn't help but smile. I thought “this is what I love about Northern Ireland. We don't take ourselves seriously. Where else could you have friendly banter like this without somebody getting offended?”
Now for the second confession.
Recently, I have been working on an update to a Fan Fest started by somebody else. And I was enjoying doing it, because I was finding out lots of new things about a skater who I had heard of but had never actually seen before.
But when I reached the stage where I was looking up videos, I started to get concerned with the sheer number of videos of her. Particularly the number that were going into the “Other Videos” section.
There were LOTS of montage videos. And lots of videos of programmes with different music superimposed onto them. There were even people uploading videos of her that were originally recorded on the social media accounts of her or members of her team.
Like, this is a girl who 12 months ago had never even competed in an international competition!
Maybe I am old fashioned and out of touch with modern society, but I found it very worrying that a child in their early teens has fanatical fans like this.
