Evgenia Medvedeva

Huh? Were there some posts deleted or is that just my internet that‘s making... things not work again.

Anyway, I‘ve been listening to Orange Coloured Sky for about I don‘t know how long and the more I do this, the more I can imagine Zhenya skating to it. It will be grand!

And I can totally understand that Zhenya‘s missing Jerry. I miss my dog when I‘m just two days away from him and she‘s in a different country... Poor Zhenya, poor Jerry. :(

But it‘s kind of funny that Jerry is actually a girl. Shame on me, I never knew that! Was this intentional or is Jerry perceived as a both male and female name in Russia? It reminds me of when I had a hamster as a child and I called “her“ Ines (don‘t know why, don‘t ask  ) and my vet looked confusedly every time I called ”her“ by her name. When he finally told me that I in fact had a male hamster I was like... oh. Oops. Ines stayed Ines regardless.

But apparently one of them bites, the other one doesn't. Ah still it's so cute how she is running around playing with animals and insects.

Lady bugs are harmless and look nothing like beetles, whatever genetic similarities they might share. Ladybugs are friendly and curious and often land on you for a few seconds to check you out. It's cute that she's nursing one (hopefully) back to health.

Okay good. I remember I used to catch butterflies when I was little. For some reason I am now kinda scared of them lol. Ladybugs are the cutest insects ever.

I read that she's afraid of moths and butterflies, so I'm surprised that she likes the ladybug. They have a similarly hectic style of flying, which I assume is the root of the phobia.

Funny, when I was little I was scared of butterflies but would let ladybugs be in my hand.
Now I'm just scared of big butterflies, especially the black ones ugh, the little ones don't bother me anymore.

I am afraid of most insects for varying reasons. With moths, just seeing them pop out of nowhere when I'm not expecting anything at all is the unpleasant part. I keep flinching imagining it... A ladybug is honestly not scary to me at all though; it's more benign since it's smaller, the creepy crawly legs are less apparent, and the dotted shell is cute. I assume for some similar reason it comes off nonthreatening to Zhenya

She seems to get along pretty well with animals, I saw clips of her feeding a monkey and an elephant and riding the latter for a bit :)

Actually, some Ladybugs do bite. The red ones do not, and those are the ones we used to have everywhere in NA. But the orange ones (I think they are Asian ladybugs) do bite sometimes, and they are becoming more and more common here. The one Zhenya has looks like one of the ones that do bite, but clearly not in this case.

Don't see anything about any of them biting.

I did my checking ... insect scientists say, as Colonel Green reports, that they are all beetles and not technically bugs.

British word is ladybird or ladybird beetle... and this is used in other English speaking countries while ladybug is exclusively North American.

On the other hand, Zhenya won't need to get far out of Toronto to find all sorts of nasty biting insects... most of which should be avoided even if ignoring them was a rite of passage in cottage country when I was a kid.

Brian, who comes from cottage country (Orillia, Huntsville) will likely give his skaters good bug-avoidance advice.

And it's not as though Russia doesn't have it's own biting insect nasties.

Thank you!

The ladybug is very cute! Does anyone know if it has a name yet? There was a poll, right? ;)

ETA: Those blueberries look yum!

I've never seen an orange one, but that's interesting.

Now she posted the delicious looking strawberry breakfast bowl and a big strawberry. I am thinking she is giving us code, trying to send her fans a secret message. Let’s see...Lady bugs and strawberries...Lady bugs and strawberries...what could it mean? ;)
