Evgenia Medvedeva

Flanker, i didn't adress to you

OK, I'm sorry. And I'm also sorry to anyone in this thread, sometimes I'm pretty quick-tempered when I see something I consider not being objective. Also I was watching Linz simultaneously, so I didn't take much time to think over the reply much.

yay! it's weekend and habemus Autumn Classic confirmation .

hahaha that funny pictures of Hanyu and zhenya in the background, most see him, but I could only notice zhenya!:luv17:

There is very few days left for the tests, I rely a lot on the mental strength of my baby;)

have fun looking for Evgenia here :p https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TThRbR6lYpM&feature=youtu.be I can see her around 10 s for a very short time but maybe you will see her at the beginning during stroking class. I can't recognise her.

Anyway I know how you guys feel. Yuzuru's fans always analyse other TCC skaters' photos and videos in order to find Yuzuru in the background :laugh2:
I hope we will get a new Zhenya documentary in which they will show her training at TCC :)

00:08 I found her :hap93:

I can't wait to see her new programs...
test skates :yahoo: :yahoo:
we need lots of lots of vids

Cracking up over, "it will be a bomb"! But Yes I totally agree! She said in a documentary that she wanted to be a coach and/or choreographer after skating. How amazing to be trained under the Russian and Canadian schools of skating.

You should of seen the google translation from the title of the VK interview extract:

Траньков ждёт бомбу от Медведевой
“Trankov is waiting for a bomb from Medvedev”

I mean that translation sounds a bit dodgy don’t you think? I totally agree about how awesome it is about her training under two different skating schools. She’s hopefully going to benefit from the best of both worlds! [emoji4]

Name in last sentence of your translation was translated incorrectly (Auxerre does not make any sense). In addition, you missed the last sentence from his interview. below how it should be:

And, working next to Orser, she may become an incredible specialist in the future.
- Why?
- Because she knows the Russian school.

I translated it all from Zhenya’s official VK page who had posted the extract from the article and I assumed that was it. Thanks for adding the remainder of the interview. That word doesn’t make any sense to me either but google translate can play up sometimes and I didn’t want to replace the word with anything else.

On a better note here is Zhenya and Jason Brown at TCC (if it hasn’t already been posted). [emoji4]

I think that training at TCC will only benefit Zhenya in the long run. Russian and Canadian schools of skating are obviously very different and each has their advantage and disadvantage but knowing them both, she can take the best things from each and teach them to their students should she ever become a coach. I’m really excited and happy for her and can‘t wait for the test skates to come. The only downside is that school‘s starting again when test skates arrive but... I can handle that if it means that we‘re getting news about Zhenya! 🙏🏻

yes that's exactly my point c;
so that's why i'm confused that apparently canadian school is so much superior. ok evgenia and alina, and some other eteri's skaters are not the smoothest or fastest, and canadian experts from gs don't enjoy their skating, but then there are gubanova, kostornaya, sotnikova, tsurskaya, kostuyk, even pogo and more to watch. still an impressive list i guess.
Sorry about setting off a tangent guys.

I follow both Russian and Canadian skating pretty closely, and get frustrated by the 'either/or' conversations.

What I was trying to say is that

1) SS are a huge thing in Canada, and a deep part of the TCC philosophy so no surprise that we see Zhenya working on them. (Saying SS are a specialty doesn't suggest others don't have their own.)

2) It's generally accepted that Canadian ladies are behind...including in Canada...and the 2 outliers were exceptions just because, unlike other Canadian girls until recent changes, they weren't forbidden to learn triples early.

So, 3) looking at whether TCC has something to offer Zhenya has little to do with the overall lagging development of Canadian ladies in the last 8 years. Look instead at the success of the men.

And like Maxim Trankov, one can accept that Zhenya has had the benefit of the strengths of Eteri's approach, but now can move further by adding the strengths of another.

Spot on! Thank you for this post!

I am really curious what parts of Mumuki they will use for her program. From 3:00 - 3:30 of the song it gets awesome...

I’ve just realised that Zhenya’s fanfest has now the biggest number of posts among ladies :eeking:
