Not exactly. That's what she said: "В своей жизни я сейчас поменяла все: начиная от языка, на котором я в основном говорю, т.е. я по-русски разговариваю только с мамой и бабушкой по телефону." (= I've changed everything in my life: starting from the language I mostly speak, that is, I only speak Russian with my mother, and grandmother on the phone.) She wanted to say that she only speaks Russian to her mum everyday (her mum has been with Zhenya all this time in Canada) and she speaks Russian when phoning her grandma who's in Moscow.

Thanks, I misinterpreted 'mama and babushka by phone with dog' to mean both of them were speaking by phone.

Well, given it was written up in and tweeted by International Figure Skating Magazine, a normally reliable source, it seemed more than a rumour.

But it's really great that Skate Canada corrected either the situation or the information so quickly.

I know that everyone here is really looking to watch Zhenya's season debut live.
