Yes she was definitely nervous but she really started selling it towards the end. I can tell this is going to be an amazing program once she gets comfortable. [emoji3]

Yeah that's what I was thinking... I don't keep track of juniors, but just now when I went to Wikipedia to see what the current record under the new system is I was in shock to see Trusova at the top with four points more than Zhenya.
I'm scared now that it was her PCS that dropped and that she'll be knocked down from the top this season.

She was so nervous! As her first outing after a serious injury, after the OG, after changing team and country I can see why she's so nervous, because I'm sure there will be plenty of people already saying her career is over after getting a 70. But that's the beauty of change, it's a complete reset! She needs to build everything back up and she has the whole season to do it

I feel like such a bad fan, but when Zhenya's lead and reputation are at stake, nothing else matters to me except her win :sad4:
I wouldn't read too much into this one skate. It wasn't her best skate ever and she was scored accordingly for it.
I think it's important to keep in mind that she was pretty broken up post-Olympics. It was obvious that she was pushing her body way beyond its limit and she paid for it in the months after, so much so that it took her months to get back to full speed.
For her to get back to this point is good enough. Press on to tomorrow.
Plus ultimately, it's about whether she's happy to be there and it's clear she's that she is in a much better mental state, at least that seems to be the case to me.

I think people are forgetting she didn’t do jumps for like 4 months? Only started jumps a few months ago.

Yup. This is how I feel. I know logically that this is not the do-or-die of her career, but I care about Zhenya so I worry... :hopelessness:

If they called her edge they also have to start to call Shcherbakova's and Kostornaya's edge otherwise it is unfair. So many flutzes have been overlooked this season so far.

I don't like the dress very much either, especially the upper part, but I like the design of the skirt ; her legs look long and slender. It really seems that the judges are demanding more transitions and difficult previous steps, I think the layout will change, so I prefer that she start scoring like this, that will motivate her to improve and see what is not working. She looked very nervous at first, then in the Kiss and Cry her smile was wonderful, the girl knows that they will start everything from scratch. I also hope to see the protocols, maybe they marked an "e" and its 2A <, negative GOE for the landing in 2 feet. She's head to head with Bradie, who did it pretty well. Evgenia is lucky to be able to make combinations in the second half (since she has experience in that) and can use it in her favor to compensate.

The score was a bit of a shock. I don't think her PCS would drop that drastically. < and/or edge? She was (understandably) nervous, but second half looked really good. Not a fan of the dress.

Yeah, Zhenya has a "reputation" as a flutzer because haters make such a big deal about it, but it's not fair at all. Her edge isn't deep outside, no, it's slight inside. But it's a relatively inoffensive (f)lutz in my opinion, and she's improved her toe pick and presumably the prerotation so... I don't feel she deserves to be dinked so hard for it.
