Alena Kostornaia

I think Alena's PCS should be way above everyone. When she debuts senior, I think a big PCS jump is justice for Alena.

i hope for this too. it may not happen her first year senior (but could like Zagitova if she wins/medals a lot) but she absolutely deserves and will deserve by then high(er) PCS. IMO she is eons ahead in artistry and skating skills than any other junior lady and many current senior ladies. Trusova and Shcherbakova do not have bad PCS by any means, but Alena really should be scoring with a bigger margin to them with a clean skate.

I just watched the junior competitions . Oww Little Alena, she looked so sad, before her SP her eyes were swollen:(. She managed to save the programs. She's so graceful; her hands, her sliding, she looks very beautiful on the ice.

Recover soon, little Alena (her little hand had a bandage :sad21:)

Was that even a 3Lo? Still struggling with counting rotations  Her legs weren't as tight as they should, that's why it looked different.

Yeah, it looked like a 2lo to me too at first... She seemed almost to pause after the first rotation, idk how that even works. Somebody with more knowledge tell us.

its a 3-3, the video is just laggy :)

In today's Ljubljana Cup during ice resurfacing break Ted had an interview with one of the technical specialists about GOE bullets, with some examples of good execution. and guess what, Alëna was presented there even two times (good height and length and steps before the jump+unexpected or creative entry)

Remember how she was so smiling during medal ceremony? And she did that with broken finger. No matter she looks like a princess, she is made of iron.

This is what I've been talking about, BTW: https://youtu.be/JmFak1IheSc?t=7049

It will be huge battle at JGPF between Anna, Alena and Sasha . Anna has quad in her program, Sasha has several quads. Alena has to have 3A or quad to be able to compete. Hopefully we will witness great figure skating!

This year's Junior World Championship is not that important to Alena. The reality is her future is very bright she needs to focus on where she's going to be two and three years from now. It does not matter if Anna and Sasha have the edge on her now will they hold up to in 3 years from now? Not everyone wants to or can do quads the reigning ladies Olympic champion is not doing them and probably will not even try to do them in her career. Alena needs to follow Alinas path to greatness. I hope Alena develops 3a. It will help. But she is already at the age of 15 one of if not the most beautiful figure skaters in the world and that's a great starting point for Alenas career.

I'm not sure she'd agree with you.. at least last time she looked like every completition is very important to her.. ;)

And also: if she doesn‘t get to worlds this year, the fed might try to hold her back in juniors for one more year. They did that with Serafima Sakhanovich who was a two time Junior World Silver Medallist. I think if any junior of the three is ready for seniors, it‘s definitely Alena since she is the most mature of them by far. So while I generally agree that she should be looking at long term (which she probably is doing already by not trying against what her body tells her to do quads and maybe push herself to an injury), she also needs to do well enough to get to Worlds (everybody knows the fed doesn’t want 3 Eteri girls) this year in order to be allowed to move up next season.

As long as she finishes on the podium for the rest of the season I can almost guarantee it will be Alena, Sasha, and little Alena at jnr worlds. The only way I can see them sending Anna at all is if she finishes with gold at jgpf or nationals and Sasha completely fails. Politically they very much need Alena there at the moment to contrast Sasha and I will honestly be very surprised if Anna doesn't get another season at junior level because the fed are pushing Sasha very hard at the moment and they won't want Anna in Sasha's light. They will move Sasha and Alena up and then focus on Anna next season. Out of all three of them I would say Alena position at worlds is probably the most safe.

You really think so? I mean, I would be really happy if Alena got to go to Worlds since she really deserves it and she‘s such a beautiful skater but... Anna is a wonderful girl as well and very talented. And why do they politically need Alena? She’s the more artistic skater, that’s true, but Anna is very graceful as well, so it’s not like there’s only the athletic type a la Sasha. And also: Anna has the quad bonus. Do you really think that the fed would want to keep a girl with possible two quads at home? It‘s just so unfair anyway... All these girls would deserve a chance because every single one could medal at the World stage but there‘s just too few spots. Anyway, I‘ll have my fingers crossed for Alena and wish her luck and health... so tough that she‘s training with a broken finger... ouch. :(

I don't doubt all three (Sasha, Anna, Alena) will move to the seniors next season. (Alena mentioned it in the last interview). They already have high SB for that. I really doubt Rodionova/ Panenkova, Tsurskaya, Sotskova will be able to overcome 200+ scores. and even more I really doubt all of them will continue skate)
