2018 Skate Canada Men's Free Skate

MamaMetis: appreciates the speed in Keegan’s spins, exclaims “Great!” at the end of his programme, has seemed him cute, interested in adoption/making supportive remarks as needed.

Shame about the 4T+REP fall but otherwise foot-perfect (wow at the 3A near the end). And the classic Keegan charm. Should be enough for second?

I'm guessing that will slip down to bronze.

KEEGAN SLAY!! That just might be enough for silver! Also how did he get the wrong jacket for his costume...

PS Rod Black says "Yuzu" Hanyu so often he might actually think that's Yuzuru's full name

He must really wanted to skate that clean, imagine winning his very first GP gold in his very own home turf

A fall on the 2nd quad, but otherwise good skate. Will likely fall to silver

Yep, he was 7+ points ahead of Cha. His tech is still lower than i expected, though.

Good job Keegan!! Thank you for not getting rattled, even with a fall. That program is just so charming. I wish it could have been gold, but that should still be silver. Hope springs eternal for GPF!

As always, loved Keegan's skating, spins, and footwork. I think he performs this program brilliantly. Yet, given that this is the post-Olympic year I really wished he'd gone with something different to stretch himself. Perhaps more of character like Kurt's Casablanca.

Happy for him regardless. :hap93:

Great performance from Messing with just one costly mistake: a popped 3Lz but very well-landed otherwise, great 4T, solid 3A+2T, smooth 3Lo, heavy fall on the second 4T attempt (also repetition), great 3S+3T, and beautiful second 3A. As usual, he was dead-on with the speed of the spins and the step sequence was suitably slow. I'm glad he kept this program from last season so that he could build on top of it, because the humor and expression is a bit more mature and more at ease. I'm not sure if he's working on the 4Lz, but I can see him being able to do it.

He's come so far since the days of the Hulk honey badger. He's still cheese, but now it comes with some hardware.
