Junhwan Cha

I've rescheduled work for this week because I realized it was going to overlap with the men's FS  All that's left for me to do now is to get the incense and start praying. Dear skating gods, please let Junhwan be in great shape with fitting boots and without any illnesses or injuries, and let him have two clean performances with SB scores (with deserving PCS, if possible)

I am lighting the incense now, please skating gods all the luck and some more for Junhwan  My stomach is already churning

Everyone get on your feet and join me on hailling Prince Junhwan the Charming, I almost squealed out in sheer joy at a Starbucks filled with people  :hap57:  God I love him and he is 0.14 points behind for bronze which makes me look for all the calming medication there is

He did so well!! It looks like the 4S was called - if it weren’t then he’d have 94 pints and be in first! But what a great skate.

Jun Hwan is only 0.14 behind Brezina.
He scored 165 at Skate Canada & 160 at Helsinki, with a fall on one of his quads each competition.
So, if Jun Hwan can land both the 4S & 4T and get between 165 to 169 pts, he's in the running for bronze.
Brezina's SB was 164 at Helsinki, with a fall on his 3A.

So proud. Too bad about the <, but I'm not worried long term. As a guy, he'll get more core strength as he gets older and I'm sure he and his team have long recognized the issues.

Y'all, do you know what just happened?

Junhwan Cha skated almost clean tonight. He got called for UR on the 4s unfortunately, but you know what? He got level 4 on all his spins and his step sequence. He and Nathan were the only ones to get StSq4, in fact, and Jun got super high GOE -- unfactored it was +3.86.

Jun skated great. He finally broke 40 PCS in the short, and crossing our fingers for the trend of better PCS in the free he is actually in contention for bronze, which is pretty cool given that he only competed internationally like twice last season and one of those comps was Pyeongchang.

It was a great reason for me to not be doing my homework. It was absolutely worth it.

Jun should be pretty proud of himself right about now. And I hope that tomorrow he has a really good day and is proud of himself again.

Even if he doesn't podium, he's done himself and his team proud, and I do honestly believe he's going to grow into a definite contender in three years...
